My brother and my bf's family shared an interesting experience just before Christmas.
My brother was camping with some friends, in the bush, as they were trying to get a head start on their New years Resolution of quitting smoking (cold turkey) and didn't want to take their frustrations out on their families. At the same time about a short distance away my bf's family was driving home.
Both groups saw a red light darting around the sky in no diserning pattern. My bf's little brother thought it was rudolphs nose and that santa must be taking the reindeer out for a test run, his parents didn't know what to make of it, but my brother and his friends said there is no way it could have been any type of man-made air craft as its maneuvers were just not possible, there was no cloud cover and and no indication that it could have been caused by a spot light or Lazer.
My brother and his friends are skeptics so they didn't out right claim it to be a UFO. Just something they couldn't find an explanation for.

I put 'neither' in the poll, but really, I'm not sure what it could have been. It's not Rudolph's nose. Thats just kinda silly. But I'm with your brother. I'm not totally sure I would call it a UFO.
Funny thing:
They call it an Unidentified Flying Object. That sounds weird. I'm pretty sure I have identified it if I say something about it or label it. How can you have identified something as a flying object, but its still unidentified? And once they DO identify it and it turns out to be a traditional 'UFO' aka an alien space ship, do they still call it a UFO?

I think it may depend on the source, like if it were man-made or space debree (meteor, or plane) it would be called as such. But for an alien craft, I'm not sure. Although, it might be better to call it an IFO (Identified Flying Object) instead of an A.S.S. (alien space ship) xd

Heh we all know the Rudolph is out of this one, lol. It really couldn't be a spot like because they either don't have enough phower or they are usually very wide when hitting the sky. As for a lazer...that has to be a very strong figgin lazer to get that high lol.
Now myself I do believe there are others things besides us. That's a whhooollle lot of space for it to be just us. So it could have very well been a UFO of sort. Last resort...a fall star.
