Updated 07/07/2007 - I have added a section describing the historical background of the Digital World. See the third post on this page for details.Rules 1) Have Fun! This is an RP. If you're not in it to enjoy yourself and the storyline, then you shouldn't be posting here.
2) No God-Modding! No Auto-Hits! If you're going to launch an attack at someone, it's alright to describe what -might- happen if they get hit by it, but give them a chance to respond in the event that they might be able to dodge. Alternately, if you're the target of an attack, be realistic: no one can dodge everything and this isn't Naruto so you can't just put a log in your place and pretend you were never in danger in the first place.
3) Unless you have clearly written permission to do so, don't control anyone else's characters.
4) Posts should be literate with some effort at correct spelling, grammar and punctuation. Really, don't be afraid to use a dictionary if you have one.
5) Moumantai. If there's something you don't understand, feel free to ask.Story Digital Monsters, or Digimon, are a global phenomenon in the form of virtual pets, Manga, Anime, collectible cards and video games with each new generation adding new twists to the ever-changing battle and evolution cycle. When a new game, entitled Digimon Reality, was released it became an instant success.
The premise of the game was that players could choose from a huge selection of playable digimon, many of which had never been included in the same game before. They could pick their favorite or choose to be assigned at random. The game would then begin placing them in a starting area of the Digital World as the previously established digimon. It plays like a typical RPG with online capabilities and a one-player training mode.
Shortly after it was released rumors began circulating about a strange environment that would sometimes appear when players attempted to log-in for online play. Those familiar with Digimon Adventure 02, the second season, would have compared the strange environment, not accessible during the regular game, to the Dark Net Ocean. Then, one fateful afternoon multiple players encountered this irregularity in the game's program. This time, however, the environment was accompanied by flickering silhouettes belonging to each of the Great Demon Lords. The players who witnessed this lost consciousness and soon awakened to find themselves having been transported into the Digital World transformed into the very digimon they had been playing as.
Can these humans-turned-digimon survive in the Digital World long enough to discover the reason they were brought there in the first place? Will they be able to convince others of their humanity and find a means to return to their former selves? Or will they cast aside their humanity and choose to accept themselves as digimon? Will they join the ranks of the many evil digimon that threaten both worlds or will they be among those trying to stop them?

Character Template Upon arriving in the Digital World all humans-turned-digimon will start out at the Child level by default. It will take a little while for the humans-turned-digimon to figure out how to use their attacks and evolve. Once they have learned to use their attacks and evolve they will be able to do so at will. In the event that anyone gets "killed" they will regenerate as a Digitama to start again from the Baby stage, but will retain their previous experience and advance more quickly.Key (Japanese - Dubbed)

The Digital World Order Because the original purpose of the Digimon project was to create a fighting virtual pet, the Digital World is a place of eternal conflict. The digimon inhabitants of the Digital World thrive based on their battle experience and level of evolution. The strong survive to realize their full potential. Such was the natural order of the Digital World.
Over time the savagery that had governed the digital world diminished and civilization began to flourish. This encouraged cooperation to confrontation and battles between digimon became more about competition than about survival. Some digimon remained hostile and aggressive like their ancestors, but most preferred to lead a more peaceful existence.
Occasionally powerful digimon would appear that sought to take control of the Digital World by force. They would use other digimon as their stepping stones to pursue this goal. They were eventually stopped by powerful digimon opposed to their evil ways. These heroic digimon still watch over the Digital World inspiring wisdom and courage for a new generation.
The Thirteen Royal Knights defend justice in the Digital World while the Twelve Olympians serve as localized guardians for their specific followers. The Harmonious Ones work to preserve the balance of the Digital World while the Great Demon Lords work to corrupt the Digital World and claim it for their own. The Digital World has since been locked in a constant stalemate.
The inhabitants of the Digital World, unable to break the cycle set in motion by their oppressors and so-called protectors, have called upon their neighbors in the Real World for help.

Background: A teenager living in Washington, this girl was an outsider to the people she knew in real life. They thought she was insane, and carefully avoided her at all costs. She ended up devoting herself to the online world, slowly finding that she was well liked there. Then she found out about anime, and that led her to Digimon. The newly released game had captured her attention the most because it meant that she could train alone, talk to people, and play as a character that appealed to her. She'd gotten it as soon as possible, and spent hours playing the game before the rumors drew her to try and explore the new 'glitches'.

Human Name: Tom Boddy Age: 20 Background: Tom was into Digimon since it first appeared as a V-Pet in the store selves all those years ago. Dispite being teased in Jr. High, he wore his V-Pets proudly on his back pack, watched all the anime and read the manga religiously. He had a few close friends and recently they all purchased Digimon Reality. Tom looked at his various V-Pets from the original (which still works) to his pendlum X, trying to decided which Digimon to play. It finally hit him and he logged in...
