Around my family, this topic has come up quite a lot recently since the passing of my Grandma. So, my question to you all is this: Is cremation wrong?
The Bible says:
Isaiah 26:19 But your dead will live; their bodies will rise. You who dwell in the dust, wake up and shout for joy. Your dew is like the dew of the morning; the earth will give birth to her dead.
But could this not be metaphorical?
I personally would prefer cremation because I believe that the embalming process is horrible... and second of all, cremation is far cheaper. What are your thoughts on this matter?

I definitely want cremation. But only because I'm a pyro. After all, God says that he will give us new, better bodies in heaven. Why would we ever want to keep old relics of our sinfulness here on earth?

I don't think it really matters...if you are abandoning a house, who cares if you burn it to the ground or let termites eat it off?
Personally I really want to be cremated, but I think either way is fine. Or like like if you're an organ donor person thing.

It depends on your convictions. Some people believe that the body needs to be all in one spot in order for it to rise again at the final judgement. Others believe it's just the spirit that moves on. I can't tell you what to do in this situation. All I can say is that you need to follow your beliefs.

I say it's up to the individual person.
But really I have nothing against either one though I would prefer cremation because I'd like it to be cheaper and for my family to spread my ashes, etc.

I think I want to be cremated. Who knows, with all the people that die everyday, there might not be anymore room for cemetaries in the future, and everyone won't have the choice but to be cremated. Eh?
Anyway, I hear from some people that you shouldn't be cremated because you need your body when the final judgement comes, and I hear from others that its ok. Personally, I don't think that God cares either way. If He didn't want us to cremate our dead bodies, then I think it wouldv'e been made much clearer in the Bible. When i die, I want any useful organs of mine to be donated, then my body cremated. Then they can put my ashes in an urn and bury the urn somewhere. I really wouldn't want my family to keep the urn in the house, they're a bunch of spazzes, and they might knock it over and have to sweep me up with a dustpan or something. That'd be kinda weird. xd

I shall expand on my opinion...not that any one cares, but I feel special if I do it. xp Our spirits:Our bodies::Ourselves:Our house Our bodies are really just temporary things that our spirits live in. When we die, it's like we're moving, except that time is forever. Like, we won't move again. So I don't think there is anything wrong with either one, traditional or cremation. And anyways... 2 Corinthians 5:1-3 NIV 1For we know that when this earthy tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, and eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. 2We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. 3For we will but on heavenly bodies; we ill not be spirits without bodies.
