~*Storyline*~ It started out on a cold, winter night. For the past several days, it had been storming without stop, the snow almost covering the windows totally. Now the land was covered, looking very much like a Winter Wonderland from one of those ancient Christmas Cards. The moon was full in an almost cloud-less sky, the snow on the ground glistening like diamonds in the moonlight.
Out of the darkness, blooming like the midnight-grown flowers of lore, blossom the Children of the Elements. One of fire, one of earth, one of water, and one of air. Each child, found by a way-wandering passerby and taken away from the others, raised as a human.
Only, they were raised as humans until their powers manifested. Each child found that they could control the elements of which they were born to: Fire could control all manners of flame and fire; Water could control water and ice; Air all manners of air, wind and storms; Earth could speak to the animals and could harness the use of earthquakes. The children were praised of their talents, told that they were wonderful, special children and that they would protect their homes from Evil and Darkness for all time.
Unbeknownst to any of them, a darker Element was born as well. Raised in solitude, by wolves and bears high in the mountains. As the Darkness grew, so, too, did his/her hatred of the others. He/she knew all too well what he/she was and hated the others for finding someone that cared about them enough to take them home.
It has been exactly 18 years since their birth--though, the conditions of which they were born were not as...harsh--and it is time for the reunion. Darkness has sent letters to each element, telling them to meet him/her at the place of their birth: beneath the ancient White Oak tree high on the top of the mountain…Children left to be Played: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Darkness.

~*The RP*~ Aki sighed softly to himself, a quiet, reserved sound as he leaned against a tree, his bright blue eyes raised to the crystinaline blue sky. His right hand rose toward a dropping flake of snow--it had probably be dislodged from a branch above him--gently touching the ice-flake and watching it melt on his warm skin.
Though the eighteen year old was dressed in an open fronted, short sleeved shirt and blue jeans, the cold did not affect him. He felt comfortable in the cold weather, even so comfortable as to lay down in the snow and ice and daydream about...whatever.

Raen was angry, as usual. She had been hated so much, she began to hate others. It wasn't fair. They each had a loving person to look after them. Raen had been shunned from society, and shoved into the care of Darkness itself, Lorcán. Teaching her how to be the bad guy wasn't what she wanted. How come she had to be the "bad guy"? Her isolation might drive her to be what everyone else wanted. Lorcán sent out the letters like, she didn't know why he sent them. But she ventured to the White Oak tree, in clothes almost like a female Santa's except her clothes were black where the red was and was with white puffs. Raen barely got away from Lorcán, her mentor, right now. Her axe was latched to her shoulder, and she looked at the sky. Snow was falling.
Lorcán sighed. He had planned to accompany Raen. He and her were close. But in that same way they weren't. They weren't a couple, more like brother-sister. Lorcán, at eight took her in. He rocked her to sleep and held her when she cried. He never comforted her, and just said, "Crying won't change it, Raen." Raen originally had no name, Lorcán named her. He named her Raen because not only did she cry, but she reminded him of the rain.

((Yeeup. Evil = awesome. I would've been evil, but....I like water better. x3))
Aki stood up slowly and stretched his arms above his head before he stuck his hands into his pockets and started down the path back to the village. Perhaps he could find someone to hang out with and have fun with...
Only, his "parent"s were holding a letter to their chests, his mother crying softly in his father's arms. Aki worriedly glanced between them.
"Mom...? Dad...?"
"Aki, honey," his father said gravely, holding out the letter. "This...came for you."
The boy took the letter carefully and read it.
Aki, Meet me by the old White Oak in the moutains tonight. I'm waiting for you.
It wasn't signed, but Aki had a terrible feeling about this. He hugged both his parents before he went up to his room.

Raen trudged on. The cold winter's blow brushed against, her making her cheeks flush slightly. Raen was beautiful, but couldn't feel beautiful on the inside at the moment. She regretted hating those more fortunate then herself, but Lorcán encouraged it, too. At first, she didn't believe it. But the more she heard Lorcán tell her to hate them, she realized she did. Raen sighed, she inhaled fresh air, which stung her nose by the fierce cold. She got to the Oak tree and sat under it. What had the letter said? Why must she go to the tree? Raen was confused.

Vincent sighed playfully as he was awoken by his "mother" "What's u....you alright?" He asked as he noticed the tears on that lined her face
She forced a smile on and lightly wiped at her tears "Every thing's fine sweetie, but you might not be home for awhile" She said as she handed him a letter that she had just received "You should go now, and be sure to stop by your dad's workshop, he has something for you, it's a present he's been working on since we've had you." She explained as she turned and walked into her room to wait for her husband
Vincent looked at the letter his mom just handed him and then scratched his head "I wonder what pop's has been working on...." He wondered out lout as he opened the letter and read it
Vincent, Meet me by the old White Oak in the mountains tonight. I'm waiting for you
"Cool....wonder who's waiting....." He said as he walked into his fathers workshop he just handed him a spear
"It's called Steel Tempest, use it well, now get out of here.....I've got work to do, and you've got what you need" His dad said as he turned away from him
Vincent smirked "Sure, no problem, I'll be home as soon as I can, don't worry....and it's a nice spear.......guessing it's name's based upon my element...Love ya, both!" He said cheerfully as he twirled his new spear and started towards the mountain path to the White Oak

Ayumi took a deep breath then let it go and watched as her warm breath came out as steam before her eyes. She ignored the crunch of snow beneath her boots, the sound of the wind playing in her hair, the branches creaking under the weight of the snow, instead she focused her ears of the animal sounds. That would tell her when to make ready to fight, the animals would sense the danger long before she would.
Nothing in the letter she had received was threatening, but it wasn’t writing on pink paper with flowers in purple crayon either and the last part made it seem ominous, she couldn’t shake the thought that she was walking into trouble.

Vincent was starting to get bored with the miniature whirlwind he had in his hands, and gave a small sigh as he let it dissipate, as he looked up he noticed Ayumi and ran up to meet her, greeting her with a big hug. "So, what are you doing out this far? Meeting some mystery lover?" He joked with a smile a blew a kiss "Pretty girl like you....Wouldn't doubt it, but you might want to do it later...Got some business at the old White Oak..." He said with a slight sigh and walked a little further past her

Raen had no lack of patience. But she had grown tired. She relaxed under the Oak tree, letting herself slouch. She soon fell into deep sleep, like a child. She looked harmless then. You could see no hatred burning from her eyes, she wasn't wearing a scowl or a smile, though. A neutral look. Raen had reached out to everyone possible when she was little, only to be rejected. That was what she hated. Why should they be openly accepted into a family and her rejected over and over. She had Lorcán, it wasn't much. But he could be like a brother. He never comforted her really, in fact, Lorcán sometimes made things worse. But tonight, Raen had a dreamless sleep, curled into a ball, somehow.
Lorcán was uneasy. His sister could easily fail. But he wasn't going to send spies. Even if she did fail she would be furious. Raen hated being under watch, and being treated like she couldn't do anything. "Oh...wait...Perhaps I forgot to tell her this time. Oh well, I must go tell her." Lorcán knew that was a pitiful excuse, but how could he help it?
((Oh yeah...I was wondering...What IS the evil plan for them? Destroying the elementals? Or what? What would be the "point" about that. OOOOH! I have an idea Shadow! I'll tell you in the pm! ))
