I thought that Doyle was one of the best character's that Angel the Series introduced. When he died, I felt it was as if they were only killing him off to give Cordelia a bigger role in the show. I found that he was a very funny, well rounded character, and I had hoped that he and Cordelia would get together. I was quite angry when he died. It was like "WAIT! HOW CAN THEY DO THAT?!"

When Wesley came in, I was like "They're replacing Doyle with Wesley!!??" It was very traumatic.

Doyle was great, I absolutely love him. Ya know, I've read a book where they have to face his father, and they call his ex for help? It was interesting. I think it was called Monster Island or something like that.
Oh, and I saw this comic book page that someone had scanned in once. It was right after Doyle died, Cordi walks into his apartement, you see a close up of her face, a distance shot of one wall that has a plaque on it, then a close up of it. It's got an Irish blessing on it that I can't remember how it starts, but the last line is "and may you be in heaven a day before the Devil knows you're dead." Then it shifts back to a close up of Cordi "Oh Doyle, why did you have to be so brave?" I was nearly in tears, but I can't find it anymore, which stinks.

They had to get rid of Doyle because Glen Quinn was causing trouble. He partied too hard, and then he OD'd and died. The end. But I did like the character Allen Francis Doyle.

Glen Quinn didn't die for many years afterwards. They killed off Doyle to make Angel function without his mentor, and for the record, by the end of Buffy, Nick was developing a cocaine problem, drugs aren't unheard of among actors people.
I loved Doyle, and he was such a vivid character for having only been around as little as he was. That's what's most impressive, how we can learn so much about people in for less than 10 episodes. People like Illyria was only in 7 episodes yet we really know her personality. Ethan Rayne was only in 4 episodes! I can't believe that.
But tangent aside, I miss Doyle, and wish he could've stuck around.

I loved Doyle, and to be truthful the death of doyle was planned from the start, joss had announced it right after Doyle had died, there was lots of rumors about Glen being kicked off for a drug problem or partying to hard but none of that was true; Glen Quinn was was close friends with David and Christian Kane, the three of them always partyed together, every time one went out so did the other two; if partying was the case then Kane would have been kicked off too.
And Nick having a cocaine problem is a little off, he had problems with drinking...not drugs.
P.S. I was wondering where you heard that Nick did Cocaine

Doyle was awesome!! He kinda just hung around and got headaches all the time, but he was still the coolest member of Angel Investigations, other than Angel of course, I think Doyle was really cool and i was upset when he died.

He was like the Angel series' Xander. Here's his tombstone: R.I.P. Doyle. He had to be the ******** hero. Born:---- Dead:----
