From counting down months, to weeks, I am now counting down in days until my first baby arrives...21 days until his official due date. OMG! 21 days I can't believe it.

As long as it is a healthy baby, we don't mind. However having said that at the 20 week Ultrasound we found out the sex. It's a blue one. And I had to have another scan at 36 weeks to make sue my placenta was actually out of the way - it is and I asked the radiologist to check the sex again and he is still a boy. 19 days to go. Although I think it may be sooner coz I am getting a few contractions every couple of days and the pets are a bit concerned about me. When ever I move the dog gets worried concern on his face.

Squib is merely a nickname. It just refers to something little. There are fire crackers in Australia called Squibs and they are well...little. And i have a friend who refers to little things as squibby. We Australians are great at calling things weird name wink Yes we have picked out names. But aren't totally decided on his first middle name. It's so hard to pick! I am sure when the time is right we will know what it is.

I got to spend some time in hospital. It was yucky, my blood pressure was high and despite the fact I was not showing any signs of preeclampsia, I had to stay over night. gonk It was my first time in hospital EVER. Everything is fine and I am home again. Blood pressure is back down YAY. I have a slight infection and that was the cause of all the trouble. Hopefully it will clear up soon, having a slight temperature is really annoying. Antibiotics for me for the next few days! Oh and while I was hooked up to the TCG, I was having Braxton Hicks contractions. There were about 5 in ten minutes. i had no idea that was what was happening when I got that feeling. I just thought it was Squib pushing out! All fun and games

4laugh Bryn Owen Archer was born on 2nd May at 9:25. He weighed 7lbs 7oz and was 52cm (sorry don't know what that is in inches). I was induced the day before due to high blood pressure. 18 hours of labor later, it was decided that I should have a c-section. Labor was the easiest thing in the whole world ever, it was all the other stuff that was hard. The midwife told me that I was 9cm dilated when in fact I was only about 6, so there I was pushing for 45minutes. Bryn was transverse and his head was also slightly tilted so I had to contend with excruciating back pain in between the contractions as well. Every 3 minutes I would contract and the back pain would continue in between the contractions. How rude! Once Bryn was out, he was jaundiced. Apparently there had been a cross over from my blood into the placenta and I had made anti bodies (Anti-D) is the technical term for it and he had to spend his 4 days under lights. That was so hard for me, but he is perfectly OK now. He feeds and sleeps like a piglet and really only cries when he gets colic. He is gaining weight and is already 1.5 cm longer than he was at birth. The child has got the biggest feet EVER and his legs are so long!
