Bar
The main site for activity, the bar is open all hours of the day (and night). It is a rowdy place, but quite well controlled, rarely facing the brawls of more common and base taverns and inns. The gambling tables are all set in one corner where one can almost assuredly find a game of the right stakes. The lighting is low, as the only source of illumination is from the numerous torches lit around the room. A large bar dominates one side of the room with bartenders eagerly awaiting to tend to your every whim. Dual swinging doors (saloon style) are the only way in or out of the bar, besides the employee doors out to the kitchen.

*Adrian walked through the door, and sat down at the bar counter, spinning around on the stool, picking up a shot of whiskey from behind the bar. He really shouldn't have been drinking, him being the elite guard of, well, pretty much everyone and all, but he doubted a mere whiskey would even make him stumble out of clumsiness. So, he sat back and drank, the bar silent at this time of night, the lights dim.*

Brigham walks in and surveys the bar, but no being one who had ever like to drink despite his Scottish heritage, found a pool table in a shadowy corner and meandered over. Starting to place the balls on the table, he sent looks to see what ladies had decided to drop on in.

Ah, a pool man I see. Hustle much, or are you more of a straight player? They say that if you intend on playing the game, you've got to play the player...so I guess you can guess my style.

[-9th-]Mikhail Swordsworn He shrugs amicably. It's all in the timing. Maybe next time I shan't give one so easy. He continues on silently for several minutes, until they reach the stairs. Time to make our appearance, it seems. Sometime soon, I shall have your riddle prepared. In the meantime, let us find some compatriots. So saying, he leads her elegantly down the stairs, into the bar. Star smirked at him and reached up with her outer hand, taking a hold of his hand on her shoulder for a moment. "And I look forward to it. I'm sure you can easily find one that will stump me." Following suit, she continued the rest of the way to the stairs in silence, taking her hand back sometime during that period. Star grinned up at him. "You make it sound like we have to make our way down like we're some royalty." She managed a small laugh.

With one of your wits, I should think it a challenge to best your mind. And you are right, again, but only to a degree this time. I am only a Lord-Captain in service of the Ancients. Not quite nobility, but an officer. You, on the other hand, are quite the noble in my eye. So saying, they reach the floor of the bar as he finishes that comment, and he promptly spins, going down on one knee and bowing his head, one arm extended, as if offering her entrance to the room. M'Lady.

"I wish what you say was true." Star listened to him with interest. "Oh, really? I'll bet you have quite a few good stories from that. And truly...I look nor act anything close to a noble. You're more close to it than I ever will be, I'm sure." Star stood frozen with horror as she saw him try and make an elaborate entrance for her. She blushed madly, with a tint of anger suffused in her blush. Without giving him another look, she made her way off to the side, to the part of the counter that was partially covered with shadow by herself, as if she came alone. Star avoided the inquiring eyes of all that looked her way. She busied herself by looking at the different bottles of wine behind the counter.

But I am but a soldier, Star. He smiles wryly at her reaction, watching her walk haughtily over to the counter, then followed. My... you act so regally. You didn't even look back, as if you expected your entourage to follow, as of course, I did. Quite impressively done. I see that you could fit the part quite ably, if you so desired.

Star felt a little guilty as she saw him walk over, leaving him so abruptly and coldly. But that was quickly beaten out of her when he took the chance to speak before her. She glared angrilly at him before turning her head away. "Then he must know that one of my status would not speak anyone below her rank." Star icily muttered to herself, of course, loud enough for him to hear also. She glowered at a nearby plant so fiercely, as she still had her head turned away from him, it seemed as if the plant would wilt any moment. In fact, it very much looked like it had drooped a bit.

He grins broadly, chuckling under his breath. As M'Lady desires... He executes a sweeping, formal bow, and leaves her side, going to look around at the other inhabitants.

Wanting to be rid of the recent, embarrassing event that just occured, she ordered glass after glass of red wine, trying to make herself too dizzy to remember. She preferred white over red, but found that it was easier for her to get dizzy using red wine. Star ignored all the candid gazes she received. That was easily accomplished since her sight was getting distorted already. This might be true, but her mind was still clear. She asked the bartender for Passito wine. The first cup, she had slowly drained to fully appreciate it's taste. It was one of the best she had ever tasted, seemingly stored for many a year. The next few she just quickly drained. Ah, yes. The effects were starting to kick in now. Her head started to throb slightly. Wonderful.

Mina walks into the bar on the ceiling. "Much cleaner than floors, less crowded too," she muttered to herself. "Oh Barkeep, I'd like three gallons of whiskey please, and one gallon of brandy," she said, calling down to the bar tender. She looked over at the woman downing glasses of red wine at the counter. "Hello, might I ask you a few questions about your drinking habits? I'm currently doing research on alchohol and its effects on non-human life forms, or are you human?"

A woman appeared beside her. Just before she began drinking her sweet passito wine. Perfect timing. Only her vision blurred slightly. Her mind was still quite clear. She tried to focus on the woman. "Oh, I usually just drink a glass or two of white wine. But today, I'm trying to- I mean, I'm trying something else. Does that help?" She hadn't wanted to bring back up the partially forgotten memory.

"Most certainly" Mina said, pulling out a pen and taking notes on what her new subject said. "And how often do you venture out from your norm of drinking habits and preferances, and what are the side-effects you experience when drinking?"
