Fanthread? I believe so. Discuss your favorite elements of the story, the musical, or even the parts you dislike. Should Christine have chosen Raoul? What happens to Erik at the end of the musical version?

Ironically, I was listening to Iced Earth's "Phantom of the Opera" when I can across this thread. Anyway, I personally think she should have gone with Erik - would have amused me more; but I am okay with Raoul. I am most fond of the musical (it's in my nature to be), but I can't think of anything specific right now

I like Erik much more than Raoul...

He's foppish.

Erik is much more intelligent, knows many languages, and has a wonderful voice.

I've recently read Susan Kay's version and I must say it was really amazing...

Has anyone else read Phantom of Manhattan?
