Elven:

User Image

1.) The Original Elven race was sundered for a number of reasons in ancient times, they became two main categories, Dark Elves and High Elves.

2.) Sun Elves: The Sun Elves are Elves who specialize in healing and the powers of life and light draw most of their power from the Sun, it is the base of their entire culture

3.) Night/Moon Elves: The Night and Moon Elves are closely linked, both drawing their power from the moon, due to their affiliation with the night they are often mistrusted, they are typically more aggressive than their Light loving cousins and many have a strong connection to water

4.) Wood Elves: The Wood Elves are reclusive and cunning, they rarely leave their forest domains and often learn to manipulate the forces within the woods they inhabit, they have formed pacts with many forest spirits and draw their power from the very essence of the forest.

5.) Drow The Like the wood Elves are reclusive, they draw their powers from the earth and are considered the most aggressive of the Elves

6.) Druchii The Druchii are the direct descendents of the original elves before they began to change and adapt to their chosen roles and environments, They are considered the most elegant of the elves and are unique in the way that they do not draw power from the spirits and powers of nature but are blessed by the gods They are characterized by their arrogance.

7.) Ishalii: A Cousin race to the Druchii, they have a far more powerful connection with the powers behind all things, they draw and usw pure energy as their source of power, they are the noteable exception that does not need to change the form of mana before they can manipulate and use it naturally.

I suggest we outlaw Angels and Demons as playable races, you can be descended but not directly, so maybe 3 generations gap. I think it'll break some of the overpowered pure chars and cliches

I agree. We can name the decendants:
The Daemos and the Ascendists. [Here's a good twist,-> in reality neither race is a relative of either but really two branches of the same race!]

That's pretty good, I can think of many both bad and good things to come out of that twist...

Yeah. So any other ideas for races?

Dwarves and Gnomes are still untouched.
As are Human-derived species.

I can make a chart like the elven one for the dirt races if you want mrgreen (secretly hates gnomes and dwarves)

Gnome is a fun word to say when pronounced 'G-nome'.

Thats hilarious. Perfect.

Any ideas for how to deal with Dragons and Dragon Folk? As they are an abused race as well..

more or less, with Dragonoids I'd say the same thing as the angels and demons with the generational gap, so only one trait has been passed down i.e. wings, acute senses, the spouting of fire/ice/acid, tougher skin
PostPosted: Sun Apr 22, 2007 9:52 am

I think tougher skin should be a trait that all of them have, just cause it is one of those that is something that seems more logical for all of them to have. But that's just me...

yeah, that's a good point, but the thing is they shouldn't be too inhuman looking, at most... wings, a faint scale pattern on their skin, dragonish eyes, claws
PostPosted: Sun Apr 22, 2007 9:59 am

Ya, I was just saying, they all should just have at least slightly tougher skin than anyone else. Just because it's a trait that is probably dominate anyway. And ya the eyes should be a common fact, wings don't nessisarily have to be, but you're right, the shouldn't look too inhuman.

I'm gonna say that if they choose to be a dragonoid then they get by default

-Eyes
-Tougher Skin
-Acute sense of Sight

they can have maybe one of these
-Diamond hard claws
-wings
-breath weapon xp
