I don't know whether this is important, but I was dinking around, and discovered something
"I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."
The Laughing Man's quote is already chunk full of wisdom and curiousity, regarding his "cover".
BUT LOOK~!
"I THOUGHT WHAT I 'd DO WAS, I'd preTEND I WAS One of THose deaf-mutEs."
I THOUGHT IT WAS THE END, WHAT WAS I TO DO?
and
THE END IS WHAT I MADE IT
and
I SAW THOSE ODDS, AND DID WHAT I INTENDED
Maybe I'm overreacting, but am I onto something? This seemed all too curious..

If it is subliminal then that's J. D. Salinger fault.

Over reacting maybe. Genius, definitely. =3 Nice work. heart The original quote is from the Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. ^^ Good book.
P.S. - The character was Holden Caulfield by the way. In case you wanted to know. lol

No overeaction to me
Dude you stumble upon an awesome discovery.
If i could I would hump your left shoe till oblivion, But me morals and character persist that I shut up and hang myself in the corner
Besides your quotes match with the laughing man's intentions

Well, if you break down the events surrounding the laughing man, It's nothing more than a hysteria that was completely glorified.
The laughing man's intention's were to get the information from the man, but he merely hacked everyone so his face would not be seen.
The rest of Japan saw it as a terrorist attack, and many idiotic followers of an empty idea took it upon themselves to unsuccessfully mimic him
So I would say, in reference to the correlation between GITS and the quote, if those messages were indeed meant to be subliminal, it would have been pure coincidence, and probably the way the laughing man fanatics would have seen it; Phrases that strengthen an empty idea.
