Thats one of the things that annoys me when people put up statistics on how many people died as a result of communism but of course they neglect to remember all the mass killings done by the church or other forms of governments because we can overlook that since its on our side

I agree its rather convenient that all the priests and other church members denounce communism for the taking of innocent lives but seem to neglect its own rather violent past

I concur- the crusades, the neglect of action during the holocaust (I recomend a movie called Amen, it's about the church refusing to do anything during the holocaust http://imdb.com/title/tt0280653/), and their support of an even worse genocide- the slave trade. The church has committed more attrocities then any leader ever, especially Mao. Remember- they did nothing during the holocaust and with a single word they could have made many of the German soldiers stop. They let it happen therefore they are an accomplice to the crime. If you know a murder will happen and it does happen without you informing anyone, you get tryed for murder because you are just as guilty as the person acting. They supported the slave trade, and are also guilty for that. Not even Stalin (a** hole) killed that many.

Technically Mao and the communist party did'nt kill the millions of people. It was a coinsidence. Famine. Disease. Historians also belive there could have been an small out break of the plauge. But with China having so many villages on the brink of uncharted its hard to bring help to so few in so many differnt places. This is unlike the murders of the crusade.

Numbers mean nothing to me, so the reason I give is: Well, everyone errs, and to err is human, therefore Mao was human QED, but honestly... so he wanted everyone to work more in the factories than in the fields, but he neglected the idea that everyone has to eat.
So.... It was a tactical error. Everyone makes them, for instance Charlemagne.

And the Catholic Church was partially in fear of the Nazis, as many were. The Nazis had shipped off all the Catholic priests who spoke their minds in Belgium, Germany, and France, and were actively killing them off in Poland. The Catholics also gold to save the Jews in Rome. The Church also was against the the Nazis for a good deal of the beginning of their rise, as they saw them as Paganists. Doesn't mean I think the Catholic church should have kept quiet. They could have easily have made the Poles, French, Croats, Slovaks, and Bavarians rise up violently, and have caused mass mutinies. And the Church hasn't committed nearly as many, especially Mao. Heard of the recent trade agreement he had offered Ford?

I don't trust the US government, or any government for that matter, to not fabricate events. Especially when talking about communists. Mao made life so much better for so many people, and, while it wasn't by any means perfect, the US has done so many worse things, yet I don't see you critisizing this government nearly as much as you insist on all socialist governments in history being evil. We have to take what we have, it's not perfect but it's better then capitalism, and it's purely naive to think that socialism will ever be perfect, but it's the next best thing after communism.
