I know that both me and Comrade James are planning to do debates (I also recall Jera wanting to do them too but don't quote me on that) and lectures, and I think it would be a good idea to have a place to post when they are outside of our sub-forums. So here's a thread for just that, anyone who wants to hold debates or lectures at their house or mine (my doors are open to all comrades, here's my house and feel free to move yours around the same area- a communist community, the idea of Comrade James http://www.gaiaonline.com/homes?user=2285512 ). I'll have debates and such in my house not regularly but I'm going to try for two times a month or so. Anyone who wants to debate on anything just ask and I can try and make it happen. SO anyway, if you want to hold a debate or lecture or anything at all involving the guild or politics in general post it here and I'll make a scedule type thing with all the meetings. If you don't have a house tell me and you can use my house, and if you have any ideas for debate or people you'd like to debate make it known and I'd be glad to help!

EDIT--- Comrade James is no longer active in the guild (due to unknown circumstances told to me by a friend of his), so my house is the only one currently open- here's a website to help figure out timezones- http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ )

ATTENTION- Ok, so how many people would come if I held an open discussion at my home on THIS SATURDAY (May 19)? If you're interested post here, and also post what time would be best for you. I was thinking around 8 pm central US time but if that's not good for anyone say so. Also propose discussion topics, my idea was revolutionary methods and failed and completed revolutions of the past and why they failed or succeeded.

DISCUSSION BASICS-
Ok the general idea would be people ask questions on the topic and other people answer, you distinguish you want to ask or answer a question by standing (changing stance from kneeling) and a few people are mods who call on people and keep things under control basically. If you want to be a mod let me know and I'll pick maybe 2 others (besides me) or we could vote or something. Also, advertise discussions everywhere you can- signiature, forums (DO NOT SPAM- ONLY IN APPROPIATE FORUMS) and we can have people learn from it by asking questions. I need at least 5 people to come not including 1 or two mods other then myself. PM friends (or enemies) you think would be interested and/or contribute, I was thinking of doing this every saturday especially during summer considering most of us are free in summer. I won't be in town next saturday and I'll be out for an entire month this summer, just post here if interested.

Note- if these discussions start happening every weekend I can make a mediocre banner (the banner in my sig is made by me- not terrible but by far not great). ALSO- you are the mod and person who chooses the mods if you run the discussion (meaning you come up with the idea or something like that, we'll all decide later) and running the discussion is just to keep order, but if you are a mod you should be knowledgable about the subject of discussion.

Not enough people signed up so Saturday is off, I'll post here when there's plans for another open discussion. You can still sign up by posting here but I'll need 5 people by 7 pm central.

How's next week or weekend sound? With a topic of "Activism in the US and how far working with the system can bring us"? This would be a debate because some comrades say we should only work with the system and some say we should never work with it. Anyone up for it? I'm posting notices for this around so it's more likely the right amount of people will sign up.

NOTE- If you'd like to hold a lecture or something post so HERE. Also, it can be at your house or if you don't have one or don't want to use it my house is always open.

I'm afraid I'm a little late at checking, but I'll come to the next event; just post the date and time. I'm Pacific-time though; you might want to convert it to several different time frames. Otherwise I'll probably miss it.
