Beginning of this takes place on the roof of Ness's cottage, in a corner of the peanut brittle countryside between the swamp and lollipop forest.

As night fell, it was quiet. You could see the full moon up. Its light shone right down over this little countryside. It wasn't as big as countrysides are in human worlds. The only other house for miles belonged to the house of Grandma Nut. She was known for making the most famous peanut brittle in all of Candyland. Her house was easily found as there weren't a lot of trees in this part. If you kept going eastwards, you'd run into the lollipop forest.
On nights like this, Ness enjoyed sitting on the roof of their cottage. The moonlight would reflect off the top of the lollipop trees off in the east. She thought it was a pretty sight. Even though with all its beauty, sometimes it was still more lonely than she liked to admit. But, then, out the corner of her eye.. she saw something moving in the dark. Was it a little moon fallen to the earth?

Moiety was glad for the setting of the sun, relieved for the darkness that slowly blanketed everything and hid it from sight. He much preferred it to the brightness of the day...glancing over his shoulder, he winced at the way his moon-patch shone, revealing him to any prying eyes that might wish to observe him. He hoped, in all honesty, that there would be nobody to observe him- that he could make his way to find a place to rest in peace. Company was well and good- but playing was not for nighttime, and there was no numa he would wish to put down his guard and rest in front of.

Ness crept along the edge of her roof watching from the distance. Her mind started to jog. Why did that seem familiar to her? Then she started to remember recently a numa she had casually met. She was going to play with him until Equis showed up. Naturally, she was immediately drawn away. What was a numa like him doing around here? Not many numas lived out this way.
She flew down off the roof and found a way over to where he was. "Moiety! So I meet you again is it? Can I ask you something?" It was safe to say she wasn't shy. It was also safe to say that Ness is fairly outgoing and assertive.

Moiety grimaced as he heard his name called out, and as he looked to see who it was, he grimaced further before clearing his features. Last time he had frowned at this particular numa, she had gotten all offended at him, and he wasn't particularly anxious to repeat the experiance. But...what had this numa's name been again?
Ah, right. "Ness." he greeted, giving her a forced smile. Oh, he truly hadn't wanted company, especially not that of one so bright as her. It almost hurt to look at the almost-white blue numa. "You may.."

She sat in the grass at least a foot away from him or more. She was trying to becareful not to startle him this time. She figured he needed lots of personal space from his previous behavior. "Why are you so antisocial? do you just not like spending time with other numas? Or.. are you just one of those types who will only talk with others when it was his idea to talk to them first.. and not them approaching him?" She sat looking at him. She didn't really expect that every numa she met would love her or anything like that. Still, she was just being friendly.. and he was so quick to reject it. Ness just couldn't understand that sort of thing.

The question threw Moiety off guard, and he cringed back in surprise. Who was she to judge him, not knowing him in the least? Who was she to label him- antisocial? Not liking other numas? What did she know? Bristling, he couldn't help but frown. "You know nothing of me..." he told her softly, and although he meant for it to come out gruffly, he only sounded weary. "Do not presume to pretend that you know my behavioral patterns when you have been near me only a couple of times."

She watched his every move. She tried to move subtley closer to Moi. She decided to take a more gentler approach with him. Seems she was often getting off on the wrong foot with him. Maybe it was just a sign that they would never make good friends.
She was then close enough to get a good look in his eyes. She looked at him and gave a meek smile. "You know. You're completely right. Please forgive me. I have been extremely rude. You're right. I don't know you. Seeing a few reactions from someone hardly would establish their normal way of reacting to anything." She tried to speak meekly and gently.

Moiety noted that she was moving closer..but with a mostly-stifled sigh, he merely accepted it. It would do him no good to be cross at her, and only upset her, he wagered. However, when she looked so directly at him, he quickly looked away, not wanting her to see his eyes. It made him edgy. "Don't apologize..." he muttered, scooting over to bump his shoulder against hers. "Just don't do it. I am me...and that is all I can be. If that doesn't meet your standards, I suggest you find another to talk to. I'm sure any number of other numas would be happy to chatter with you.."

He struck a particularly sensitive topic for her. The idea of accepting others for who they are. She often felt not accepted by others a lot of the time. The thought she was treating him like that. It pricked her conscience. She would not want to be treated that way. Of course, the way she would like to be treated by people. He didn't seem to be treated in that way either.
She then crouched down into the grass, laying herself on her stomach, and she flapped her wings down to her sides. Her eyes would still move to watch him, but she made an effort to not be so direct and in his face. He didn't seem to take too kindly to that. She wasn't ready to give up though.
She wanted to still maybe get him to open up a little. She thought maybe she'd talk a little softer. "What does make Moi tick? Hmm? I think you're an interesting numa. I'd like to get to know you and be your friend... if that's ok."

"I suppose it would be alright.." Moiety agreed, lowering himself into the grass beside her, although he was careful not to let their sides touch. He supposed it wouldn't be too bad...she was sweet, after all, he had to admit...even though she was nosy. He did appreciate her efforts...as he got the feeling she was doing everything she could to make him comfortable. With a sigh, he softly asked her "So, what do you want to know about me?"

Ness just smiled away, beaming that he decided to be a little more softer with her. "I would love to know anything about yourself that you're willing to share. Let's see.... What's your favorite thing to do when you have nothing else to do? And... what's your favorite snack?"
Her tail wiggled around behind her as she was hoping this was a good starting point for him. She wondered to herself if Moiety was like a walnut... kind of hard to get past the outer shell; but once you got past it, you found something yummy and wonderful inside.

"Wander." Moiety replied bluntly, eyes moving to settle upon the sky as he answered her. "See things, think things over...play, occasionally." Her second question, however, made him pause. "I..don't know, actually. I don't really pay attention to what I'm eating. What about you?" Wriggling a little to make himself more comfortable, Moiety once again stifled a sigh...it seemed that it would be awhile yet, before he had the chance to rest. Ah, well...such things could not be helped. There were worse things than chatting with other numas such as Ness...

"I fly around a lot. But lately, I'm almost always visiting with someone. I have a few friends I visit. And, there is a boy who has seen fit to not leave my house since I let him over one day." She laid there in the grass calmly.
"As for stuff I like to eat... I like... soda. Lots of flavors not just grape. And.. I like marshmellow gooey stuff... and coffee flavored candy... and I like... peanut butter and chocolate mixes..." She smiled. This was nice.

Ah, flying...Moiety's eyes flicked to the instruments of the female's flight, almost jealous...but forced himself to indifference one more only moments later. A boy-not-leaving? Ah, well, perhaps she would go back to him soon.
Wince. Oh, that was uncharitable of him.
"I like coffee-flavoured candy as well.." he murmured thoughtfully, realizing that it was true. "And caramel...and grape soda. But not caramel with grape soda.."
