A small city along the peninsula of Washington, Port Angeles is best known for is easy access to the mountains and forest scenery. Flourishing landscapes and cold Juan De Fuca waters that eventually run out into the Pacific Ocean, this city is bountiful of many natural beauties.

One in particular, just outside of this city and not quite into the small town they called Forks. A forest old and ancient that puts all in awe of its moss covered beauty. It goes without a name but others of magical essence know its secrets. The Woods of Iearly, a strange and sacred portal long forgotten. For those who wander unknowingly for too long….might wined up in another place, in a different time.

Kimi trotted out into the living room and into the kitchen. "Want me to do that?" She gestured to the hot pan on the stove that was about to burn. "And what do you mean need the car?! My parents would kill me...and what about mountains? They make my ears pop!" She covered her ears and pretended to be in pain. She was still wearing her short cut dress and fuzzed up boots. She took the time to sway around and dance about like an idiot as was her custom every morning if she had her sleep. Normally, like on school days, she was actually a b***h in the morning. She needed, strangely, exactly eight hours of sleep. "Well I do have my gym shoes here with me..." If this was one of Kat's sarcastic jokes, she wasn't getting it at all.

"Yeah well thats how we are going to get there....we can't very well walk to the mountains Kim." Katherine sighed and aloud her friend to take over. She swore it was just the bad pans they had to work with in the house and not her personally. She wasnt as good of a cook as Kimi but she tried her best, her stuff would look weird at times but turned out quite alright.

Looking out the window she sighed in relief. The couds were farther away, hopefuly it wouldnt rain when they got up there. "I think we should bring a pack with food and water.....i dont have a compass and i should leave a note to my parents." She took a mental note of all that and said it outloud purposefuly so that if she forgot her friend would aid her. They both had a tendency to forget things from time to time so if they put their two half brains together they could make a whole. Kat laughed at this thought and quickly scribbled down a letter to her parents and a rough sketch of time on when they would be back. She was going to take Blueberry, their small Kiya, and go for a hike. Her mother was pushing her to go do something for the exersize anyway. She frowned and pushed that out of her thoughts. Her mother never ment it to be mean, she was a health freak and wanted the whole family to be that way. Going out and having a nice hike with friends was a good way to stepping towards a small waist size. But her fathers unhealthy chocolate and sugar habits always had her mother on a rollercoaster ride.

"Mom must be at Aunt Judy and Donna's house." she concluded, "Dad will tell her where we are." Busying herself she quickly pulled out a pack and began to make a lunch for the day.

Kimi, absent mindedly, flipped the french toast over; any other time she would have done as normal and just not used the spatula but used the pan itself to flip the french toast. Her mind wondered to other things such as the fact that she was about to completely disobey her parents' biggest wishes: that she not go anywhere in a car with friends until she was sixteen. Her mind weaved in and out and weighed the two on her internal scale; she soon smelt the smell of burnt something. "Ah!" She hurridly yanked the pan off the aye and threw the soon-to-be-flaming french toast into the trash. "Bastards..." she mumbled to herself before walking back to the stove. She slathered a new piece of bread in the egg, milk, and cinnamon mixture;her fingers were instantly coated in the slimy substance. She tossed the bread into the pan. "I still don't know about this...I really don't want to make my parents even more mad at me than they already are..."

Despite her wishes to be rebelious, Kimi had this underlying obedience that she couldn't shake. She always feared that some how her parents would find out about everything (including her yaoi fetish) and she would be completely disowned. The more she thought about it she began to remember why she had gone to Kat's house in the first place: to get away from the insanity and injustices that were constantly played upon her. Her eyebrows furrowed. "You know what? Screw them...lets just go. And if they find out..." she paused to think of something dramatic to say,"...I don't know!" She caught a wiff of smoke again. "Dammit to hell..." She scooped the poor "soldier" from the pan and into the trash. "We knew ye well, brave one..."

Katherine gave her an amesed look, "Yeah i know the pans suck." she finished the sandwiches and threw in a few waterbottles. What else could they use. She thought a moment and pondered, "I really dont want to get you in trouble though Kimi.....you sure?" Either way it would be alright, she didnt want William yelling at her friend again. She finished the day pack and made sure the keys and her wallet were in grabbing range for when they run out the door.

Padding around the island and into the laundry room she filled her cat and dogs bowls with water and food before sitting lightly on a stool. She watched absentmindedly at the things around her and almost jumped out of her skin when her cat Malkum rubbed himself against her leg.

"Yeah...I'm sure." Kimi said this nervously, not sure at all. "Well, I finished...uhm...breakfast..." She had been in such deep thought that she had not been paying much attention to the french toast. "Eh heh...its the thought that counts right?" She laughed and sat the plate on the side of the island farthest from her friend. "So, what are we going to do anyways? I mean...like are we going to Hurricane Ridge or out to like Sol Duc?" Sol Duc was the local hotsprings and she was just dying to go there. She notw, after fixing herself a plate of french toast, sat down in the heart attack chair (a spinning computer chair that simulated you falling backwards, but really only tilted really far back). She ate quickly, as always, and watched her friend.

"Heck no not Hurrican Ridge," Katherine took her french toast happily with a nod in thanks and cut a piece with thought, "i swear i will never go back there that death trap of a mountain!" she grinned and stuck the food in her mouth, "Sol Duc sounds nice." chewing and swallowing Katherine leaned forward on her stool to have a better view at her friend. "Hurrican Ridge is bad joojoo for a Napiontek," she laughed and took another bite.

"Bad ju ju you say?" She leaned forward over her toast and smiled cattily. "What happened up there?" She pushed further, "Did you and devial lady go up there?" She dug in the fridge for a moment to look for some milk, sadly finding none. She never understood why she looked in the first place; her friend never had milk, the cow kind or soy.
