1. Generic Rules

Before we do anything, I do have to cover this stuff! I know, I know. You’ve heard it all before, and so have I.

1. The TOS of Gaia must be followed at all times!

2. Please keep any and all content at PG-13, I beg you! There is no need for profanity or any inappropriate content.

3. You may have side conversations in “ ( ) “ while making your battle posts, but do not make any extra posts for a side conversation. Many times a person will have to post two or three times and an extra, unneeded post could make the battle all the more difficult.

2. Basic Jobs, Stats and Equipment

Players may only chose a Basic Job only! All available jobs are listed here! I know that for Humes, Archer and Black Mage have to be unlocked…but I have chosen to make them available. 4. EXP

This is relatively simple. Characters will receive 10 EXP for a successful hit on another character of the same level. If they successfully hit a character who is a level lower, they will receive 8 EXP. Two levels lower earns 6 EXP. Three levels down results in 4 EXP. Four levels down is 2 EXP and from five levels down and continuing is 1 EXP. 1 EXP is the minimum, characters will always receive at least 1 EXP for a successful hit. In the opposite direction, however, EXP gains can only go up! One level higher will earn 12 EXP; two levels higher will earn 14 EXP; three levels higher earns 16 EXP and it goes on and on like that. It is the players job to keep track of EXP. When your character reaches 100 EXP (the number may exceed 100), the character levels up. If your character levels up during battle, you must calculate the level up on the spot.
PostPosted: Sun May 20, 2007 11:27 am

5. Leveling Up

When your character levels up, make a Level Up post, it can be as fancy as you like. Refer to the Level Up Charts to determine how much each stat gains for your job. Then, roll a 100-sided die, your only concern is the first number of the result. The first number in the roll determines how many extra points your character gained. You may then add those points to whichever stats you please. Single digit numbers count as 0.
1 – 9 = 0
10 – 19 = 1
20 – 29 = 2
30 – 39 = 3
40 – 49 = 4
50 – 59 = 5
60 – 69 = 6
70 – 79 = 7
80 – 89 = 8
90 – 99 = 9
100 = 10
An example post looks like this:

Quote:

Siita levels up!
1 --> 2
HP – 90 + 8 = 98 (90 is the base HP for a Level 1 Soldier, which Siita so happens to be. 8 is the amount she gains in HP when she levels up. Please refer to the Level Up Charts for reference.)
MP – 15 + 1 = 16
Weapon ATK – 88 + 9 = 97
Weapon DEF – 84 + 8 = 92
Magic POW – 60 +6 = 66
Magic RES – 72 + 7 = 79

Now then, for the sake of space, let’s say Siita rolled a 67. She receives 6 stats to add on as she pleases.
Now Siita must go back and edit her post to add on her extra points.

Quote:

Siita levels up!
1 → 2
HP – 90 + 8 = 98
MP – 15 + 1 = 16 + 3 = 19
Weapon ATK – 88 + 9 = 97
Weapon DEF – 84 + 8 = 92
Magic POW – 60 +6 = 66 + 2 = 68
Magic RES – 72 + 7 = 79 + 1 = 80

The dice will confirm that she actually got those points, but players should always double check their work and others. You never know when some one might make a mistake. Mistakes happen, so don’t accurse some one of cheating if they got their math wrong. I know many of you aren’t all too great with math. Some of you expressed concern about the subject to me some time ago to which I have done my very best to compensate for. Your computers also have calculators on them. Both PCs and Macs come with calculator software installed already. I have two on my mac: one in my applications folder and one in my widgets because I didn’t see the one in my applications folder and downloaded a free widget of one off the apple site. My PC at home also has a calculator on it. I believe it is in “Accessories” if you show “All Programs”. If you do not have a calculator for some odd reason, I know of an excellent website filled with calculators what can be opened up in a new window. The calculators are relatively small and can be moved about the screen. The site has just about every calculator you need, from scientific to love to basic calculators. All you need is a calculator that can subtract, add, multiply, divide and see decimals.
Here is the website: http://www.calculator.com/
Even if you get disconnected from the internet, the calculators should still work as long as you have them open. I haven’t actually tested that yet, but I plan to try.

5. Level Up Growths

I have created charts for each job. The number indicates how much each job gains in that stat per level up. These will be constantly updated as more jobs are added.

COMING SOON!

PostPosted: Thu Apr 09, 2009 12:39 pm

6. Shops

Shops will be fairly straightforward. There will be only one normal shop thread. To buy from a shop, players must post what they wish to purchase, how many and the total cost. Then, players must return to their character post, where they keep track of everything and subtract their gil from their total gil and change the number. (AKA. You have 4500 gil and you just bought a Shortsword for 270 gil. Go into your Character Post and post 4230 as your gil.). Next, make a post that you purchased Shortsword for 270 gil in your History section. This way, the judge I send to check every one’s character posts will know why you have 4230 gil instead of 4500 gil. This will also help prevent players from cheating.

Also, during holidays, a “Holiday Shop” will be open with rarer items for sale.

7. How to Obtain Gil

To obtain Gil, there are many methods. Each player will begin with 1000 Gil. Players can win Gil from successfully completing missions. The more challenging the mission, the more the reward. There will be no charge for missions until the entire system is improved upon.
In addition, there will be contests and quizzes and the like to earn gil and items.

Furthermore, any guild member who donates to the guild will receive 10 gil for each 1 gold they donate. When you donate gold to the guild, please post in the “Gil Bank” thread that you have donated and the amount. When you do, you may add the gil amount to your total gil. There will be moderators checking for this.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 09, 2009 12:41 pm

8. Engagement for Fun

If players wish to engage each other for fun, they must post in the Thread created for such battles. One person will make in initial post saying who they’re engaging and what the other person will win, if they lose. The other person must then respond to this post with their reward. All rewards come from the player’s inventory, not the clans. Battles are limited to 6 on 6 and team sides do not have to be equal.

9. The Crystal Force Clan

A member of the Crystal Force may be petitioned if and when a team/clan cannot find enough members for a battle. A Clan or Team Leader may make a post in the “The Crystal Force” thread asking for a member of the “Crystal Force” to join them for a battle. They must specify what mission they need and the members they do have and their levels. A request for a Crystal Force member may never be denied. This is because many Crystal Force members may be petitioned at the same time. There may be one on each side of the battle. The character given will be at a level average that of the other participants on that Team.

The Crystal Force is essentially myself and any of my moderators who feel like role-playing for a battle or two. Please bear in mind that I am one person, a person in college who has projects and papers that need doing. So it may take some time for me to make posts, but I will not abandon any of you. For fairness purposes, while they know every ability for their job/secondary skill set, I do plan to pull some of their punches. They will likely be more for support, but by no means will I allow them to be pummeled.

Now then, if I or my moderators are unable to fill the position, then the Clan/Team Leader will be granted a Crystal Force member for their control. However, the member will be a watered down version, but still at a level average that of the other participants on that Team.
Furthermore, Guild Members who wish to retire from the Role-playing system, but don’t want to see their hard work wasted may donate their character to the Crystal Force. That member will be used accordingly. If that member wishes to join in a battle, but not return to the entire system, they may do so upon request. If they decide to return to the entire system, their character will be removed from the Crystal Force and placed in the Clan that accepts that player. Furthermore, that character will not gain any levels. I will alter that character accordingly for battle, but not permanently. Keep in mind though, that the Crystal Force is not a babysitter. If a player is planning to leave for a time then return, they can simply leave and come back. They do have to inform their Clan Leader of their absence before-hand. The Crystal Force is for players who are retiring from the system.

10. Character Profiles

All character data will be kept track of in the Character Profiles. Character Profiles will be found in the “Character Profiles” thread. Players must post character name, level, equipment, inventory, stats, and everything else relating to their character. An example Character Profile is as follows:

Quote:
Siita
Race - Hume (since the new A2 call humans “Hume” I will too.)
Job – Black Mage
Level – 1
Clan – Crystal Force (You can leave this blank until you find a clan to join. You may not battle without being in a clan.)
Gil – 1000

Statistics:
HP –
MP –
Move –
Jump –
Evade –
Weapon ATK -
Weapon DEF -
Magic POW -
Magic RES -
Speed –

Equipment:
(Up to five pieces of equipment may be equipped. Be sure to label what each piece is: Example. Weapon – Rod)

Learning Abilities –
(Here the ability a player is trying to learn from equipment is listed with the amount of AP needed and how much the player has acquired for that ability)

Mastered Abilities –
(All mastered abilities and their Class are specified here, complete with AP earned for it. They should be categorized by skill set. Example. Black Magick: Fire; Thunder; Blizzard)

Available Classes –
(All classes you may take are listed here. You start with the basic classes of your race and as you fulfill requirements for other classes, you may update this list. When you do, be sure to note in your “History” that that class is now available to you.)

Mastered Classes –
(Any class where you have learned all abilities to are listed here. Be sure to make note in your “History” that you mastered the class.)

Inventory: (Every Item, weapon, equipment, etc you possess in this Role-Playing system is listed here)

Missions Accepted: (Only post missions that need completion here)

Missions Completed: (Post missions that you have completed)

History: (Here, players post their recent actions. Such as, “purchased Shortsword for 270 gil”, “engaged ______ for fun, but lost, forfeited Shortsword to ______” or “accomplished mission – Picking Flowers – collected reward; achieved level 2; earned 20 AP”. Every week, or other week a Judge will come through a check all character profiles. If everything adds up, the judge will clear all history. History can only be cleared by a Judge, players are not allowed to clear their own history!)

All Character Profile MUST be in this format and (I’m sorry for anyone who likes to make their posts interesting and colourful) one colour that is not white. I am likely to allow the Judge I assign to this job to add rules to this to make things easier for them (they my even let you be colourful with your Character Profiles), but I won’t let them go nuts. The only reason I lay down these rules is so the Poor Judge I make check your profiles can have an easier time of it. I don’t want them to hate me. >.<
You may however, add a drawing of your character to your post so long as it is not too large. Just make a second, smaller image of your drawing for your profiles.

When missions are completed players place a comment in “History” saying that they completed the mission and collected the reward. If, during the mission, the character levels up, the player adds to the comment that they made it to level _. You must put what level was achieved in the comment so the poor judge I make do this doesn’t have to suffer for too long. Also, the AP earned from the mission should be posted here, so Judges can be sure you really earned the AP for any abilities mastered.

11. Clans

Clan Leaders will have their own Threads for managing their Clan. Until they finish setting up their clan, they must put “-closed-“ in the title of the thread until they finish. No one is allowed to post in the Clan threads until the clan is fully set up and the leader takes –Closed- out of the title or unless, the leader give them permission. An example of this would be that they’re a Clan Vice Leader or something like that. It’s all up to the Clan Leader. Clan threads may be managed however the Clan Leader likes, but there are things it must have. There has to be a list of all clan members, though not necessarily their entire profiles. Clan Loot, Clan Funds, Clan Mission Items, Accepted Missions, Completed Missions and Clan History must be included in the Clan Thread.

Clan Loot is basically the Clan’s inventory, these are the rewards from missions that the clan leader accepted and sent members out on. The Clan Leader (unless otherwise specified) may allocate the Loot to any Clan Member they please. Clan funds are handled the same way. Clan Mission Items are items acquired from missions that may be taken with clan members on missions and missions ONLY. They may not be taken into engagements. Only the Clan Leader (unless otherwise specified) may assign mission items to clan missions.

Clan Leaders (unless otherwise specified) are not allowed to sell their members! It’s wrong and I’m sure the member will feel unwanted. If you don’t like a member of your clan, you may request they leave and join another clan. You cannot kick them out until they find another clan, or create their own, or unless a Judge says you may.

Accepted Missions is a list of missions that need completing. Completed Missions is a list of all completed missions. Clan History is very much like the “History” section of Character Profiles. The Clan Leader (unless otherwise specified) must post every mission success, all member recruits, all members who leave the clan, all purchases, etc. Another thing that must be listed in the Clan Thread is who’s in charge, if the Clan Leader assigns members to positions, there must be mention of it, so other members will know.

Now, the Clan Leaders are allowed to allocate items and gil as they please, but I implore they be fair! Don’t give a member nothing because you don’t like them! If a member feels they should be getting items and they’re not, they need to contact a judge. If the judge can find no reason for the member to not be receiving items from the Leader, the Judge may force the leader to give them items OR award the player items. If they award players items, the judge will need to post this in a special thread which will be placed in the thread for Moderators. If the player continues to be neglected by the leader, they may request leave and join another clan. If the player in question does no missions and such and did not earn the items, it’s perfectly understandable.

The Clan Leaders may appoint other members of the clan to positions they may create, but it is only the leader who may accept missions, new recruits and request to kick members out of the clan. If you plan to be a clan leader, you must be willing to sacrifice time to the clan. If school, college, or work is getting in the way, then I understand, but please let a Judge know about this before you appoint a person to the position of accepting missions and such. If a Clan Member wishes to leave a Clan, they must request leave in the Clan Thread and their reason why. Clan Leaders (unless otherwise specified) may choose to accept the request or they may request that the member stay for a while longer and give them a second chance. If the member refuses, then they are allowed to leave, but they should at least give their Leader a second chance if they ask for it! Obviously, if a Leader is asking for a second chance, they want you in their Clan!

12. Missions

There will be two types of Missions. Clan Missions and Individual Missions. Clan Missions may only be accepted by Clan Leaders (Unless under special circumstances they have permission to assign another member of the guild to the position of accepting missions). When a Clan Leader accepts a Clan Mission, they must make note of it in their “Accepted Missions” section of their Clan. They may then, send Clan Members out on Missions. They cannot order clan members to go on the mission, they can ask them to do the mission. If the Clan Member has something pressing going on in real life, they won’t be able to reliably fulfill the mission. Battle teams may not exceed 6 and may not be lopsided.

Individual Missions are Missions that any player may take, even clan leaders (But they cannot send clan members to fulfill the missions). These can be just about anything, just like FFTA2. Once again, battles may not exceed 6 on 6 and may be lopsided. Also, some Individual Missions may require a Special Item, which is similar to a "Mission Item", however, they give no bonuses in battle.

Both Clan Missions and Individual Missions will be posted in the “Pub: Missions” thread. When a Mission has been posted, it will include everything: The law for that Misison, how many players are allowed to battle, All rewards (Clan Missions will have two rewards, the Clan Spoils for the Clan Leader to allocate and Individual Spoils, every participant will receive what is listed in the Individual Spoils), AP that will be earned, and anything else worth noting (like the weather).

To accept a Mission, post that you wish to accept the mission. If the Mission is a Clan Mission, you do not have to post who you will be sending on your mission, but the Clan Leader (unless the poster has special permission) is responsible for creating the thread to host it in. Your thread will start with a post from you with all Mission Specs and who you have sent to complete the mission and their character specs. If the Mission involves another Clan, the Clan Leader of that Clan must post directly under yours with the specs for the members they have assigned to the mission (The two of you may work it out among yourselves unless there is a problem).

If an Individual Mission is your fancy, post that you wish to Accept the Mission in the thread and, if you so wish, who you wish to bring with you (You MUST have the permission from the other players you wish to bring with you on the Mission). Since Individual Missions will be tricky, you may have to wait for approval from a Judge. It will be mentioned somewhere on the Individual Mission if you need approval or have to wait. It will all be described in the Mission. Also, when you accept a Mission, you must remove the cost of the Mission from your fund or Clan Funds (Or Individual Funds – one of you must decide who will pay the fee) and make note of it in your “History” or “Clan History”. All Missions will be posted monthly. Every month, myself, or some poor Judge I assign will change the first post and replace the old Missions with the new ones. I will give them a list of what to post, or I’ll do it myself. Players have until the end of the month to start the Missions. As long as at least one player has had a turn, the Mission will not be terminated on them and they can still collect their prizes and what not when they finish.

There will be a limit to how many Missions a Clan or Individual can Accept. For an Individual, the limit is five. For a Clan, the limit is ten. There likely won’t be that many missions available month to month, but there will be some missions that cannot be terminated and you can take as long as you like to complete them. After the Judge edits the post, they will then delete all Acceptance Posts in the thread (if they are able and I am sure they can).

13. Holidays

These will be fun! Crazy missions, awesome prizes and lots of other bonuses await the players who attend the FFTA Guild on the Holidays. Now, I really only have knowledge of most Christian Holidays. Therefore, I need your help! If you celebrate a Holiday that isn’t Christian, like Hanukkah (I hope I spelled that right) or Chinese New Year, I would like to know. Post in the thread “Holiday Madness” about your Holidays, and I will add them to my roster of Holiday Missions. In the post, I need the date of the Holiday, a little background about the Holiday (so I can come up with something fun!) and any ideas you have for Missions or Prizes for me to give out (if you don’t have any ideas, that’s fine, I’ll come up with some). I’ll put all this in a list somewhere in the guild and add Missions and such to it. Unless you have some really great ideas for a holiday you don’t celebrate, only post if you actually celebrate the holiday. I want your opinions!

When a Holiday draws near, the “Pub: Mission” thread will undergo a new look. All Missions will remain the same, but new Missions will be added. The new Missions will not be available until the day of the Holiday (Unless otherwise specified). Once Accepted, you have until the Holiday ends to start the Mission. As long as at least one player has had a turn, the Mission will not be terminated and you will still receive all prizes from it.
Also, a very special shop opens up on the holidays. This shop will have rare items and will even sell Mission Items and/or the fabled Law Cards!
