RECOLO MAIESTAS UNIVERSITY
Mission Statement: Our mission here at RMU is to bring together all of the many species that have come into existence in the realms around Earth. In former years these species were enemies, however, a few centuries ago your fore fathers finally ended the senseless death from war and have attempted to unite us in peace. This is ever more apparent in the forming of this university. As all of you know we teach every species how to fully control their powers as they also learn to tolerate those who were once enemies. In the next few years we will all form bonds that will last for the rest of your lives...and when you graduate you will be yet another generation to go home and help us build bridges to a new world where we may all live together as one.

That is the greeting when you enter the campus of Recolo Maiestas. As you can tell it is a school where all of the mythical creatures from all the realms can come and learn how to use their powers fully...many of the students will already know how to use their powers but once they leave RMU they will be able to use all of their powers to their full potential.
SOMETHING TO NOTE
Long before the current generations all of the realms warred with each other about who was most powerful...many species began to make slaves of all the other species. Some of the species became so intent on being the most powerful they began torturing and experimenting on their slaves.
Once the treaties were signed all the slaves were either released or secretly killed. Since then everyone has tried to become more friendly but of course they are predisposed to hate each other...hence why the teachers of RMU came together. They decided that they needed a place where everyone was safe to come and learn and become at the very least...tolerant...of each other.
When you are in this school you are allowed to use your magic...just so long as you do not use it against another student. If you use it against another student you will immediately be banned from the grounds.
ANOTHER NOTABLE SUBJECT
To ensure that the school is a safe zone there is a hall where spectres are kept. Most of them are rather nice and are happy to just monitor the students although there are those called THE OTHERS. The others could make an Earth poltergeist quiver in fear. They remain in the hall, guarded by two spectres at the front door and a rather angry ghost named Charlotte. She is the keeper of the hall. If anyone...even a student...tries to enter the hall without the permission of the headmaster she will instruct the two spectres at the door to kill them.
THE OTHERS are kept in line by Charlotte and are only allowed out in the rare event that someone or some people try to invade the school.
THE STAFF
Headmaster-SEOLO
The headmaster is an elderly man who likes to play games...he's an old man but he shapeshifts at random into whoever he feels like at the time. He loves "movie" night...a night where everyone is invited to watch human movies with him...he also likes to quote random movies...
GIHMAT
A dwarven woman that teaches defensive and offensive
MRS. CAMBLE
A centaurian woman with long curly red hair and a honey-brown horse body. She is kind and sweet (unlike most centarians she loathes fighting). She teaches an herbology class. The reason for her hatred for fighting is simple, almost 30 years before (about 6 years as far as aging) her son and husband were killed because of a fight between her tribe and another. Since then she has worked very hard to unite everyone and create peace.
MR. STEVENS
A grumpy man that teaches enchantment. He's a sorcerer who has a very angry disposition just because of the way he is raised. He's fearful of what will happen if the species will not reunite so he acts hatefully towards everyone in an attempt to toughen them up and not be too sensitive.
MR. TENO
A powerful psychic who teaches the history of mythical worlds. He's younger than the other teachers...only about 25. He has purple eyes and short brown hair, he's about 6'2" and is a very handsome man. Most of the female students tend to try and get his class but he remains very professional despite his...popularity. His best friend is Seolo who he usually accompanies when they watch movies.
ALL OF THESE CHARACTERS ARE NPC'S AND YOU ARE FREE TO PLAY...IF YOU WANT TO MAKE UP MORE TEACHERS FEEL FREE...JUST REMEMBER THE GOAL OF THE SCHOOL. IF YOU DO PLAY THESE CHARACTERS TRY TO KEEP THE PERSONALITIES AS CLOSE TO THEM AS YOU CAN...

CHARRIES:Ea:
Ea is the only living slave from before the wars had ended. She should be dead, however, her owners...the Fae of the Light...cast several spells on her and with one spell they accidentally caused her to live forever. She was supposed to have been released but a secret part of the Fae had taken her and other slaves into an underground holding cell...kept secret from everyone...even the Fae society that has them.
She was captured long ago when she was still a young preteen. She is a Rogue Fae and thus was rumored to know how to use all of the elements in full instead of one like all of the other Fae. One day she got into an argument with her tribe about why they continuously moved, to young to understand how dangerous a time it was for them. She left and then ran into a young light Fae who lured her into the town where she was enslaved.
Once she was enslaved they cast spells on her and tried to get her to use all of the elements even though she could barely use the other elements other than fire...much like all the other Rogue Fae...even though the rumors said they could use ALL of the elements. At one point she was turned into a true immortal. They also shackled her at night with shackles that restrained her powers as they whipped her. Of course her screams annoyed them so they magically restrained her voice so she was mute until the immortal spell healed her enough...ironically just before sundown and just before the spell was cast to whip her.
When she escaped they cast a spell to keep her torturous whipping going every night, invisible shackles forming around her as an invisible whip recreated her pain...the mute spell also keeping it's hold on her. She ran into the Shadow Nymphs...a cruel species who his her away at RMU during the summer as they tried to figure out how the would repay the Light Fae for breaking the treaty.
The staff in the above post are the only ones who know who Ea is and will keep her true identity a secret. When she arrived they clothed her in robes and a dress with a low cut back so that it would not be ripped when she is whipped every night and the robes cover her tattoo and all of her the scars along her back. They also put her in the spectre hall...the safest place within the grounds and ordered the spectres to keep her safe at all costs...Charlotte putting a ghost named Seth in charge of watching her discretely when she is going around the campus and less discretely when she's actually in the spectre hall. Thaurer Ita'Istar Nwalmear is a half-elf, born into the elven nations and raised within their society. As a result, she is as low as a slave and treated as such among the proud elven race. Humans are beneath their kind, and a half human is an abomination, hence her birth name, Thaurer = 'abominable one'.
She is blind and wears a cloth to cover scars on her eyes. She would like everyone to believe that she was born into blindness, but this is not the case. Her mother died shortly after giving birth, a result, she was told, of having a half human child. Her father is dead, killed for raping her mother. She is not allowed to visit the Spirits, where one may talk to their deceased ancestors. As a cruel joke, several older elven children pretended to befriend her, coaxing her to the temple grounds where the Spirits listened, telling her that she should be able to talk to her mother and at least appologize for what she had done.
As a result, one of the generals gave her punishment himself. Directly after she was caught, before any other repricussions could be taken, he ordered her held down as he removed her sight with his sword.
She, as can be imagined, does not like or trust elves. She fears them and will not speak to them unless she absolutely must. Her power had more of a chance to manifest after the experience. Her abilities with auras expanded to where she could use it as a form of 'sight'. Snapping her fingers can send a reverbration through the auras around her. As they shutter slightly, she can see them. She can also attach her aura to another person and send a faded type picture into another's mind. She can send memories and things that she has seen, but so far nothing more. She can also create a sheild that keeps another's aura from coming too close to hers. (If the aura can't come close, the person can't. Keeping in mind that objects with no aura would still be able to pass through, though depending on how far away the person is kept, the object they hold may not be able to reach her.)name: Mi'than Tri'Antos (Me-than Tri-An-tose) age: 167(still young, dude) race: Planetouched - Aasimar sex: male appearance: [x] Mi'than has vividly gold eyes and an amazingly intense stare, his eyes are often wide open, giving him a very surprised look. Mi'than stands about 6'7 and weighs about 100lbs(talk about light, probably from his elven side...) history:
Mi'than grew up around many Celestials and other Aasimars. he was constantly trying to be like his father, a Celestial who had fallen in love with an Elven woman while he was at war, brought her back to their land, and they had been married. Mi'than wasn't as tall as his father, who was nine feet tall, but still stood at 6'7...
at the age of 100, Mi'than left his home and went to school to perfect his skills, specifically archery and swordplay, plus magic, elementalism(sp?), necromancy(which he did NOT study), and chronomancy(which he also did NOT study). Mi'than was top of his class, though admittedly he came from about as close to a pure-breed family as you can find, and there was only one pure-blood Celestial in his school, the headmaster. however, this school was naught but what teens these days go to as a high school and he soon decided that he couldn't simply go to this school until he was the perfect student, he had to get more experience in the realm only ever heard of in rumours where he came from, and where his father had been fighting for some time, the same place where his mother came from, Earth. he signed up at RMU, praying daily that he would be accepted and that the blessing of his family, friends, and elders, would be enough that he may be accepted......

Crystal Kosuke Wrote: 1. What do we need in our Applications? 2. Any species? 3. Are there any limits to powers or magics? 4. If so, are we able to use all of the elemental powers or just one of them for our character? 5. Am I correct in assuming that our characters need to have a flaw to them? lol (Ex: Split personalities) 6. Is this enough questions? I can come up with more... Lol!
your application should include their past and if you want how they look
yes any species from mythical legends (except for angels and demons because that gets into theology)
your character should be able to use ONE element with expertise...however there are some species that are rumored to have more than one power...such as the Rogue Fae...of course a Sorcerer or Wizard would have full range but they don't really count because their powers would be limited in all realms because they don't have a specialty...LATER in the story I want all of the characters to evolve and be able to spread their powers into all the elements ^.^
yes your characters should have flaws...it doesn't have to be major but they should not be all powerful...
I'm sorry if this roleplay is too strict I just don't want it to turn out like the last one did T.T I have an idea for this story and I'm trying to get it there...the only real fighting there will be for the first few months should be the bickering between the different species...even though you are able to get along some of the NPC students should be twits...although later there WILL be conflict...Ea is the key to that...she is the only living person from the wars...and an ex slave...she should not exist and yet she does and the fact that even after centuries she just recently escaped from her captors means that the Light Fae had not followed through with the treaties and the Shadow Nymphs will Definitely want to get back at them for that...as will the other species when her existence becomes known...*nods* When they come for her and the students start fighting everyone can learn that the students have found a way to use more than one element so that she is no longer the one who can use all elements...of course since these powers are still new using any other power than your specialty will hurt ^.^

A silent sigh escaped from Ea's well formed lips as she slowly sat up, her body still stiff from the night before. After a few moments of silent tears when her sheets were ripped from her back she finally started to scoot over to the edge of the bed.
"Good Morning Ea." A deep voice breathed from just in front of her as she finally started to stand.
Good morning Sean. She thought when she was finally together enough to look up at him.
"I see you rolled onto your back once more...should I begin watching you as well as the outside of the room?" He asked with a smirk while he watched her stand unsteadily.
...No...I can handle this on my own. She snarled hatefully, her amber eyes turning a brighter red as her anger flared. What time is it? She asked after she had forced her body to stand up straight.
"It is almost time for classes to begin. I'm sure you haven't forgotten but today is the first day of school...You'll need to attempt assimilating with them." Sean said as he watched her slip on her long robe the fix the hood so that it covered her face.
Yes...I remember...Although I'm still not sure how you all plan to help me communicate...It's not like any of them can actually hear me... She grumbled, swinging opening the door then looking at Charlotte with unamused eyes.
"Well you can always right them a note...or my favorite...you could burn your message onto their flesh!" She answered Ea with her disturbing smile.
"She can't do that...she's trying to fit in not wreak havoc." Sean said with a sigh.
"Awe...but that's no fun..." Charlotte said with a fake pout.
Will you two stop that...honestly...I'm not going to communicate with anyone except for those who can read my mind...I will NOT burn them and I will NOT go out of my way to make them feel at ease! She said, feeling exhausted before she had even begun the day. Now if you don't mind I should be getting to class. She finished then walked past the ghostly forms of Charlotte and Sean until she had finally made it to the doors separating the Spectre Hall from the rest of the school.
As soon as she was amongst the students rushing to get off to class she reached up and tugged at her hood again to ensure that her face could not be seen. "Good Luck" one of the guarding Spectres said as Ea started forward.
She gave them one nod then disappeared down the hallway, thankful that no one had stopped to ask how she had made it past the Spectres. Enchantments...she read from her schedule. Great...Mr. Stevens...she thought with a roll of her eyes as she started to her first class.

Ita had successfully moved her things to her dorm a week or so before and had gotten settled in nicely. She liked the small room, happy in the silent refuge.
When she surfaced from her placid chamber into the hallway it seemed as though a tidal wave had just swept across her. She sighed, made sure the shoulder strap of her bag was secure and put her hand to the wall. She'd managed to read her schedule in the room as best she could. Who ever had printed her had obviously been given instructions to either use a thicker ink or print it several times onto the same paper. Either way, she could see the words clearly when she snapped over the paper.
With all the noise, she wouldn't have been able to get a good picture of the room, so she used the wall as best she could. She'd made it to the hallway she sought. Within another minute or so she'd travelled far enough down to find her classroom. Once she was through the door she could feel the quiet in the room. Not many students were there yet and certainly none were talking. She snapped her fingers, her head turning as she glimpsed the shape of the room and pattern of the desks. She moved forward and sat in the front row. A black cloth covered her eyes, contrasting with her pale skin and white hair. She wore simple elven clothing, showing meager origins, and a hooded cloak, the hood hanging down her back unused. She tapped one finger on the front of her desk a few times to see if the teacher was present.
It was easiest for her to sit in the front. Movement from too many people would be too much of a distraction. The noise they created would send patterns in front of her eyes on objects around them and she would not be able to focus on the lesson. Sitting in the front prevented that and allowed her a better chance to try to grasp any demonstrations that might be given. This was one of the first times she'd been to school and she figured she might as well enjoy it thoroughly while she had the chance.
From what she understood, her first teacher was a rather stout dwarven woman. The basics of elven society, reading writing and basic math, are not taught in a classroom but by family and friends or the society itself. These she knew, and the histories were lectured on at just about any gathering. She doubted though, that this dwarven woman would be anything like any elf she'd ever heard lecturing about the history of elven lineage.
Briefly she wondered if prejudices would come into play in the school. She imagined they would be muffled at least, but elves and dwarves were just known to not get along. Resting her hands on the desk she ceased her tapping, content to sit back and wait until the class had begun to make any assessments about the teacher or the other students.

((Mr. Stevens teaches enchantment, Mrs. Camble is healing, and Mr. Teno was the history of the mythical worlds...as far as classes it doesn't have to be the first class that we meet in...))
When Ea finally made it to her Enchantment class she quickly took a seat in the back row, once again checking to make sure her hood was still covering her face. A few students had already made it in and had payed no attention to her so she relaxed just slightly and slipped her hands into the folds of her robes before she leaned back to watch Mr. Stevens casually.
Once the bell had sounded their silence everyone quieted down quickly and turned all of their attention to Mr. Stevens who stood at the front of the class with a rather angry look adourning his face.
"Welcome to your Enchantments class!" He boomed while he made sure to eye each student angrily. "My name is Mr. Stevens and I will be enlightening you while you sit in these seats. If you choose to talk outside of turn I will dismiss you...if you decide you don't like the assignments I give you I will dissmiss you..." He continued then walked over to a stack of books.
"You! Come pass these out." He said as he pointed to a large Centaurian who had taken a seat near the front.
"In this class you will learn how to control your pathetic powers as well as some spells I'm sure it will take your entire stay here to master. Today we will begin with the basics...just to make sure you DO know what ingredients to use in spells..."
Great...he's more pompous then I remember...Ea thought, nodding politely to the Centaur when he placed a book on her desk. After he was safely away she reached out a ghastly white arm and pulled it to her and began to flip through the first few pages.
"Thank you." Mr. Stevens almost growled when the student was through passing out the books. "Please open your books to the first chapter."

Mi'than had slept late, taken too much time in the morning getting ready, and was now sprinting to his class in order to make it on time. He hardly knew where everything was in the school, though he did have a naturally good sense of direction.
Mi'than snuck into the room, quickly taking a seat at the back, beside a girl with her hood up, just in time to accept a book from the Centaurian. He nodded thanks and flipped to the first chapter, hoping Mr. Stevens hadn't noticed he was late.

Mr. Stevens immediately ceased his lesson when Mi'than tried to sneak in, his dark brown eyes flashing angrily when saw him take a seat. "If you don't think that being on time to my class is important than you obviously don't think what I have to say is important so you should leave." He barked while stalking down the walkway to him before he stopped at the table where Mi'than and Ea sat. "Do you comprehend that?" He asked slowly as if Mi'than didn't speak the common language.
And I thought he couldn't get worse...Ea thought as she listened to Mr. Stevens yelling. She didn't look up from the text, not wanting his anger to be turned towards her.
"And you! Take your hood down or get out! It's not bright in here so pull it down!" Mr. Stevens snarled when he turned his anger to Ea.
Her eyes flashed a brighter red for a second before she slowly stood up and walked past the furious man. Tell me again why I let them convince me to go to class...she thought as she swung the door inwards with such force that it banged into the wall. She didn't even flinch when the loud sound echoed through the class, just sighing silently as she began back towards the Spectre hall. I think I've had enough 'school' today...she thought, glancing over to the shadow she knew was Sean.

When the shuffling of students through the door had ceased and class had begun, Ita finally heard the dwarven woman speak. She had a deep gruff tone that must have come from shouting down the halls of the dwarven caverns as a child. She could tell from the heavy, sure steps of the woman that she was used to labor and work.
"Books," The woman nodded, though Ita would not have been able to see it. "That's the first order of business, or maybe it should be the second... Schedules, everyone. Have them out on your desks. We'll accomplish two tasks at once." She heard scuffling and the woman walking down the first isle. She tapped her finger on the desk and noticed she carried a large stack of books. Once a schedule had been checked, the book was given.
When the woman had reached Ita she paused. Ita held her paper so that she could see it and surely she had noticed that this was indeed the class Ita was suppose to be in. However, the dwarf still paused. Ita grew slightly nervous, but finally the woman set down her book. There were no harsh words, but Ita felt she'd done something wrong. She sank slightly in her chair, but nothing more, opening her book and snapping over the first few pages until she'd found chapter one.
Two students were sent from the class, directed to their correct rooms before she stood again at the front of the classroom.
"My name is Mrs. Gihmat," She spoke gruffly, stroking her beard as she did so. "You'll be meeting my life-partner later in the year." She turned to the board, which was normal height. At first, Ita worried that she would not be able to read anything that would be posted. That notion was quickly tossed to the side. The woman was too short to use the chalk. Instead, she stood in front of the board, pointing her finger upward and chanting. Her finger glowed a moment, then she began scribbling. Everything she motioned in the air was writting on the board until she pulled her finger back. By using this particular technique Ita could see the woman's aura making signatures onto the board to create the letters. She smiled happily and sat comfortably in her seat. The words were bright and easy to read. When she finished a particular section on the board she would swipe her hand across the air in front of her and everything would be erased.
Before class was over they'd been assigned two seperate books. One for offensive spells, one for defensive spells. Defensive would be the first book they would go through. Both books were rather thin, teaching the basics and enough to get by.
"Depending on progress we may move to things a little outside of what the books teach," Mrs. Gihmat smirked. Ita could see her aura color change. "Some things are a little advanced, but I'm sure all of you will be able to catch on alright. And if you have trouble throughout the year, ask. If you don't and I move on, it will take forever for you to catch back up and your grades will suffer. So just suck it up and ask for help if you need it. Questions?"
