Asking someone to read your fic in a review isn't an advertisement, it's a request. People do it all the time. It's not like I was trying to brag about my stories. I complimented your story, too.

I complimented your story, too. No, it's advertisement. No proper reviewer ever mentions their own stories unless it's a small mentioning that at least looks like part of the praise.
