Alright. I'm Zeo, 20 years old, and going into my senior year at college (bachelors: philosophy). I am planning on attending school in San Francisco to get my MFA in creative writing. Wish me luck on paying for that!
Ive been writing since I was a youth. My favorite style of poetry is prose poetry (and language poetry, although I don't tend to focus much in this area). I've been considered to dabble in "non traditional writing" and poetry forms, so I suppose that's my specialty.
I look forward to meeting everyone else!

I look forward to meeting everyone else! You'll have to teach us all about prose poetry. It's an area I definitely feel out of my depth in. (Feel free to start a thread about it, hint hint!) Good luck with the MFA!

I'm Pi. I turn 22 on Sunday. Just graduated from college with a bachelors in mathematics and music. Eventually, I'll pursue a masters in music theory, but I've got some time before that plan comes to fruition.
I first started writing poetry my sophomore year of high school, when it was an assignment for class. I decided it didn't suck (though, in retrospect, I can hardly make that claim xd ), so I stuck with it and kept cranking stuff out. I became more ambitious after I joined Gaia.
I'm really a critic by nature (ask anybody who's worked with me musically) and have a knack for diagnosis probably more than I have a knack for poetry. wink I'm a spelling nerd, a grammar nazi, and a sucker for a good pun.

I'm Aehlae, everyone who's been around for a while knows who I am. Kinda, sorta at least. whee
I don't know if I have to wait to be paired with someone, so I'll wait to get poked or something... >.> I think. sweatdrop
I used to work really closely with ArmorFelix onct upon a time in critiquing each other's stuff, but lately he's gone incognito and not been on as much as he was before. So this will be good for me. whee

The name's Astaire. I'm 18 years old, and I'm going to be a second-semester sophomore in college. I'm currently majoring in Psychology with a minor in Bio, and I'm hoping to get a Master's in Biopsychology. Despite all that, I'm big into poetry as an art; I believe strongly in craft and working towards improvement. I'm having a secret affair with semicolons and I originally got into hardcore poetry because of my ******** love life that just didn't seem to work as prose.
I still have a ******** love life. It still doesn't fit as prose. I still love every second of writing, no matter how I may struggle with improvement at times.
I'm willing to work with people on both poetry and critiquing, as the two have a very symbiotic relationship and you cannot have skills in one without the other (in my own personal opinion.)
So. Hello, everyone. heart

I was a moderately skilled player, definite showman, but could barely get through theory classes to save my life -- in the Preparatory Department no less, while I was in high school. Yeah no way I was doing that for four years of college-level work.

Hi. I'm Hoodimann, and I'm sorta new here, if you disregard the past five years.
I'm older than all of you put together, but I've been scammed in that I wasn't given the cumulative wisdom of all you punks, just the years! confused
I drum. I write. I read. I care. I don't get paid squat for any of those, however, so I also lose weight by virtue of being a starving artist. lol For now. whee
I'll do my damndest to help, and I need some of the damndest help, too.
I had a guild here once...if I could only remember what it was called! xp
Also, highly annoyed at the over-sensitive people monitoring (and populating), the general poetry forum (witness the Ministry's thread being "locked" for 3 days), and was looking to join a guild to get out of having to censor myself, when this invite was found in my inbox. Heehee. If this guild remains viable, I will never visit the OP/L forum directly again. Amen.

I feel young, that is to say, im to my knowledge, the youngest one here.
At age 16, i am but an amatuer, compared to you seasoned poets, and feel minorly inadequte, in being here.
but after barely 2 years of writing, poetry on many different subjects, i hope that i will learn much from being here, and above all else, i hope all will learn from me as well.

Ok, so I'm Lady Laurana, obviously.
I love to read, and I started writing poems in 9th grade (4 years ago...) and they were pretty angsty back then. They're better now, or so I hope, though some of them are sometimes still kind of angsty.
I also love to sing, make fires, and help other people. I am a lifetime Girl Scout, after all.
I graduated high school this past Sunday, and I'm going off to college in the fall... Not sure exactly what for, but I was really looking into something to do with language. According to my AP Language teacher, she seems to think I would make a great English teacher. razz
Well, that's all, I suppose. Hi!

Heh heh heh, oh the memories of 9th grade poetry. xp That said, it's possible to incorporate raw emotion into a well-crafted piece. biggrin

My dad dropped out of college to be a full time musician. The best he passed on to me was one band class amidst a major in philosophy and a minor in art. I play bass clarinet in our symphonic band. surprised

Hello, I'm DCB. I recently turned 15 on June 15. ( dramallama ) Therefore, I'm probably the youngest person in this guild. I started writing poetry in 6th grade for this assignment where we had to tell the story of 9/11 through the Statue of Liberty's eyes; I decided to write a poem, obviously. Some people said it was really good, so I decided to write more and more. I guess you can say my writing sort of/kind of improved. However, it wasn't until I joined Gaia that I really excelled. I'm very glad I was able to discover that I had a talent in poetry at a young age. Still, I don't know what I want to major in in college. gonk burning_eyes
