Here's how it works: Write something brief (whether poetry or prose, it doesn't matter for this particular game) about an emotion or abstract idea. Never use that word itself, or any of its synonyms. Do not title your writing with the word or its synonyms. Let us guess what emotion you were going for. Did we guess it? You win!
(Once the term has been guessed, please let us know so we can move on. Please guess the current one and wait until it has been discovered before starting a new round.)

I claim first round with an easy one. As a side note, judging from my first example here, they don't need to be excellent writing or very original. lol. Quote: I let out a curse; really, I felt more like spitting. How could she have done that?

I lose! Not jealousy. crying
I'm gonna say let's go with three guesses then move on in cases where it's not guessed immediately.
Who's got guess #2?

Oh! Well, let's see, then... Quote: Her eyes slid closed, and her head crashed down against her forearms. Biting her lip, she stifled a sob - the children mustn't hear.

Cool! smile Oh boy, I'm not good with these things... Hmm.. emotion or abstract idea.... Let's see, here goes my first attempt: Quote: He sat there quietly at the kitchen table while his wife made excuses for her frequent "business trips" at work. It's the same thing every time. He tuned her out and thought, Is Jake really his child?
