Introduction
Enter a universe filled with advanced technology that sends all manner of sentient beings to the stars.
Here, starships fly rampant through the skies and thousands of races coexist together on hundreds of planets. Law enforcement is known as "Star Barons", combing the galaxies for criminals and shady characters. However, in light of the recent Republic of the United Universe act, the Star Barons have been granted many 'above the law' rights to secure criminals and have caused an uproar across the universe. The RUU remains steadfast in its decision, bringing unease to even the Republic's once fanatically zealous supporters.
The Star Barons are allowed to open fire on any 'suspicious' star craft at will, have right to seize and arrest all aboard under 'reasonable evidential convictions' for a jheto (their "Standard Time" month), and permitted use of "any force deemed necessary" to obtain information or in the case of resisting arrest... and many similar such rights.
What is amiss in the Republic of the United Universe? Will the Star Barons' corruption be left unchecked by those in the RUU? Greater still is the question of who is the puppet master wielding the strings to these events, and what they plan to achieve.
