I officially have ever kind of fiction under my belt...exept *sigh*, fan-fiction. Frankly, I'm really really bad at it. I need advice...

What kind of fan-fic are you trying to do? (series book etc...) and do you want to rewrite the story your way, use the charries but have them do the stiff you want them to, not nesisarrilly in the original book or do you wish to borrow the world and create your own charries? (I do a lot of the second and third thing)
