God, my girl-crush on Janis is topped only by my girl-crush on Yoko. <3 Janis was such a beautiful woman. I remember the moment I realized it; I woke up in the middle of the night singing "In The Quiet Morning", snuck downstairs, grabbed my Joan Baez cd, and listened to it repeatedly while I cried myself to sleep. My earliest memory of her is from when I was a little girl, and mum put her Greatest Hits album in. "Turn it off!" I begged. "Turn it off! She's the woman with a thousand frogs in her throat!" The Woman With A Thousand Frogs in Her Throat...I still refer to her affectionately by that name. x3 She was such a beautiful person. I've got three posters of her in my room. She was anything but. She was tragic, yes, but she was a beautiful person with a beautiful voice, presense, and, yes, body. She may have been judged by her college classmates as 'The Ugliest Man on Campus', but there's no way in hell they could say that unless they wanted to hurt her. Which they obviously did. Her face was perfectly fine, and when she smiled she was brilliant. She's the best thing to come out of Texas. Leik, evar.

Jesus christ that is mean. ugliest man on campus? they should be ashamed. lol my bob dylan tolerance quickly built me up against those whose voices are a bit scratchy or tend to scream (yes, you, jim morrison D:<) so i liked janis from the moment i heard her first song.
I cant think of this one I like...its not bobby mcgee, tho i do like that one. hmm...i dont know. i heard her on sirius and they had no name and im like janis :3 and my moms like of course it is. i can tell just by the instruments theyre playing XD

And her voice, sometimes she goes over-board but still it was totally great.
oh man. If I didn't have to get off the computer I'd go on and on<33 her voice is a powerhouse man. I like listening to the raw energy ;3

And her voice, sometimes she goes over-board but still it was totally great.
oh man. If I didn't have to get off the computer I'd go on and on<33 her voice is a powerhouse man. I like listening to the raw energy ;3 yeahhhh
ugh, and she's so cute. And although people can say she was kinda trashy, since she was an alcoholic and slept with uh pretty much every man out there, I just can't think of her as a bad person.
If anything, I hear about these things, and I just think "aw sweatdrop ". I dunno. I guess if I were as famous, pretty, and as good a singer, I'd sleep with any guy who gave me a second look, and I'd prolly drink my liver out hah
me and my friend are just like so in love with her
ugh I make sure I listen to her every day (usually mercedes benz, I love that song<33).
Ughhhh<33
I listned to her album Pearl on record one day, and ever since then I've been like JANISSS!!!

I was all "Ohhh, I miss Janis!" after one night I woke up and realized how wonderful she was. Mum said something along the lines of "She killed herself." "No she didn't!" I said. "It was an accident." "Hmm..." "The heroin was purer than what she was used to. And her girlfriends spent the money she'd sent them to buy plane tickets to come visit her, so she was alone when it happened." heart Aww, Janis.

I think they suffered various circumstances that ended tragically, like her being alone. ya should never be alone, its a cardinal rule. and i dont think badly of her cos she did drugs. im pretty tolerant ;3

Janis a Goddess of her
time gone too early
but made an impact
soo strongly!
She was a strong woman
and I think that if she would
have not passed then
the world as we know it
would be way diff.
The graspy-ness of her
voice makes her music
that much more powerful.
I love all of her songs and
can not pick just one too
listen to at a time! xD

i read in rolling stone magazine she burst into tears when she did monterey pop cos she realized they had turned the cameras off her performance so they invited her back
why would they turn em off, i wonder. the mag didnt say.
