Ch. 1: It’s only the beginning

To the east, a few thousand feet from Japan rested an island, another country that originated from Japan. This country is known, as Cage and the pronunciation of names and words are very similar to Japanese. But a lot of the people know English as well. Deep in the forest of Kamala sat a mansion, five stories tall which could very well hold many secrets. It has been said that three of the owners that had once lived there had died, leaving one left to guard the house. The one in charge is a calm, responsible adult… or at least we all hope so for all of our safety.

“Kiva!! Don’t throw that there!” This voice was squeaky, small, and it was shouted out over an explosion in the back yard of the mansion. There was a quiet chuckle coming from a figure hidden in the shadows of the tree it was standing underneath. “ Oh shut it already Kami… I’m not gonna throw one at you. Unless you want me to of course.”
The figure walked out of the shadows to be revealed as a woman of maybe fifteen years of age. Her black hair cascaded down to her back as she strolled by Kami, a mini wolf demon. The baggy red pants that she wore blew slightly as the wind gently picked up a bit.
She stopped, then opened her eyes to reveal a soft gray color, and looked upwards towards the full moon resting in the pitch-black sky. She had a necklace around her neck with a ruby pendant with the letter K engraved in it.
A soft sigh escaped her lips and she turned to enter a door that led into the mansion. That door led into a room with a kitchen and a mini living room. Well, to her it was a mini living room.
“You miss them, don’t you?” Kami asked in a caring tone. “Will you just shut up for once…?” Kiva glared at the creature before going over and laying down on one of the two couches. She closed her eyes and tried to relax, but ended up drifting into a light slumber.
A scene played before her closed eyes, as if she were in a dark movie theatre, watching a horror film.
Suddenly a man with black hair, wolf ears and a feather earring was shown, dead on the ground. The man’s eyes were wide open, a hole through his chest, lying in a puddle of his own blood.
A girl with long black hair stood, flowers falling from her trembling hands, eyes full of tears. A young boy of ten with shaggy blonde hair and black highlights stood in front of a woman.
The woman’s eyes were full of tears as well, her long blonde hair covered in blood. Then there was a shriek of pain and the woman fell over, throat slashed. A necklace with a pink heart pendant had fell off of the neck and fell to the feet of the young girl. The boy turned around, his golden eyes glaring at the girl. His lips slowly curved upwards into a smirk and licked the blood of the fallen off of his lips.
Kiva’s eyes flew open and ended up falling off of the couch and onto the ground. She groaned in pain as she sat up. Kami jumped over and sat in Kiva’s lap.” You have been home schooled for a few years now… it is time for you return to public school. I took the liberty of signing you up. Your first day is tomorrow.”
Kiva glared at the small wolf and stood up. They started arguing about going to school, she throwing up the fact of how she hates crowds and what not. Then, “Fine…but I swear that if one of those perverts starts to hit on me, they are dead…” She then stubbornly stomped over to an elevator. She pressed the last button, a button with the number five on it, and the doors closed. She waited a few minutes until the doors opened and took her to the top floor.
She exited from the elevator to a door that was right across from it and right beside another door. She opened the door in front of the elevator and closed it behind her before she went over to the tiger designed bed and fell down onto it. After around forty-five minutes of tossing and what not, she fell into a fitful sleep.

“Lady Kiva… Lady Kiva it is time for school!” Kami yelled and jumped, trying to wake up Kiva.
Kiva groaned as she swatted at the small wolf. Then she threw the pillow at Kami before sitting up and giving a long, pleasant yawn. She rubbed her eyes and looked around her room, her eyes falling onto her dresser at the far side with an outfit Kami bought on it.
She grumbled and got up. She walked over to the dressed and grabbed the white t-shirt after tossing her black tank top of and put it on. She removed her red pants and put on pink and brown knee long shorts, cursing under her breath.
She was going to be a junior this year and she could just tell she was going to hate it. She hated pink because so many of the preppy girls always wear it. Kiva sighed and went back to the elevator and took it down. The elevator went to the bottom floor where it opened in the mini living room before she crossed to the kitchen (which is connected to the living room)
Kami was in the kitchen, making Kiva’s lunch with her itty-bitty paws. Kami gave Kiva her lunch and sent her on her way, claiming she was going to be late.
Kiva sighed as she headed down the road to take her out of the forest and into the city.” Kami, I have no idea why I have to go to a human school. They hate demons. I remember when I went to elementary school, I always came home crying and what not.” It seemed Kiva was talking to her bag.
But something in the back squeekingly said,” Shh! Because you need to know more, okay? You need to make friends and get out of the mansion also… you need to find a guy.” Kami snickered before burrowing further into the many items in the bag. Kiva glared at the wolf and tried to grab her, to strangle her.
Finally she got to the school and she went to the front office to receive her schedule. Her first class was Algebra 1. Since she wasn’t there the freshman year she had no other choice but to take it.
She got up through Algebra, then language arts and then the class she slept in until getting kicked by Kami, health. Finally it was lunchtime and Kiva noticed she was rather hungry. She walked out into the open where they ate their lunch, the courtyard.
A girl with short blonde hair and gleaming sapphire eyes looked up from her fish sandwich and saw Kiva walk and sit underneath a tree. She gasped and rushed over to a boy at another table. She placed her hand on his shoulder and shook him.
“What!?” the boy asked as he looked over his shoulder, his brown hair moving over his shoulders as his emerald eyes rested on the girl. “Shiki! Look over there!” The girl pointed right to Kiva who was now eating some ramen and drinking yoo-hoo.
Shiki looked over and shrugged, turning back to his food. “So? Big whoop… just some new girl. Now let me eat Yana!”
“No, that isn’t just some other girl!” She grabbed him and pulled him away. “Yana! What are you doing?! I am so hungry!” He complained. “That is her! The Hikano’s girl!” Yana explained as she released Shiki. Shiki blinked and looked at Kiva. His eyes widened and his jaw dropped.” Kiva? Kiv-Kiv? She is pretty hot now! She isn’t that six-year old cry baby any more. Oh, look! Her bag is… squirming.”
Kami jumped out of the bag upon sensing the two and looked around. She saw Shiki and Yana and grinned a toothy grin. She ran over to them and jumped onto Shiki’s left shoulder just as they said,” Kami! Where has Kiva been this whole time?”
Kami shook her head slightly and said,” She has been at the mansion. If you stopped by there sometime it would have been easier to raise her!” Yana hadn’t paid attention to what Kami said because she was looking over to see Kiva and the most popular Jock on the football team.
“Hey there sweetie. I’m the teams best quarter back, Harts Satsuma. Would you like to go on a date with me?” Harts asked, wiggling his eyebrows at her.
Kiva gave a sweet smile and leaned up to him and then punched him in the face. She chuckled and grabbed her bag and walked off. She ignored the many gasps and talk about Kiva. She also ignored the girls that were glaring daggers at her. Obviously they didn’t know why any girl would do something like that.
Yana and Shiki gasped and shook their heads.” We would have thought you told her to keep her cool with something like that...” He said with a sigh. But his emerald eyes locked onto Kiva as she stopped and turned to face them. She pointed to the ground beside her, expecting Kami to come.
Kami gave a cute little sound before she jumped from Shiki’s shoulder and ran to Kiva, jumping into her bag. Kiva then walked off after giving the two unfamiliar people a glare. As they walked Kiva said to her bag,” Who are those two, Kami?”
Kami sighed and stuck her nose out and said,” They are just some friends of mine. I have known them for a very long time now. Lets just get going and get this day over, okay? And watch your powers or you’ll be found out and the humans will kill you!”
After a few more hours of boring school it finally ended. Kiva was already out of the school when she realized she had forgotten her bag. She grumbled and reentered the school and headed to her last class. She was almost there but she was slammed into a wall of lockers.
“Heh, no one turns down Harts and gets away with it,” she heard someone whisper into her ear. She opened her eyes from their tightly closed state to find Harts pinning her to the lockers. She gave a low growl and glared at him.
He chuckled at her before he leaned forward and pressed his lips against her neck in a light kiss. She glared at him before raising her left leg and kneeing him in the stomach. Harts loosened his hold on her before he was suddenly hurled up into the air by something.
“What the-!” Kiva looked up to see a vine wrapped around his upper waist. She then heard a males voice. She looked around until her gray eyes found the source, “Don’t ever touch her again!!”
