Welcome to Potions Class
---§---
Hey, had to make it, didn't I? This will be an ongoing thread. Read the title of the thread to see if class is about to start, in session, or if the classroom is currently empty. If it's empty, feel free to come in to roleplay different parts of the day(like if you're looking for an empty classroom, forgot something, etc.) I know that not everyone will be online at once, so expect slow progress. Please follow ToS, no godmodding, and well... just use your brains, people. biggrin
---§---
I just want to take the time to thank everyone that roll plays in this thread. It wouldn't be such a success without you. To be honest, I didn't think it'd be such a smash hit! ^_^ I love rp'ing with everyone here. It's been great fun, and it's brought back happy memories of when I used to rp. Some rp groups have a special flow and connectivity, and some don't. We definitely do! Here's to many more days of Snapeish role plays! *Hugs!* all around!

Dingy, dark, dusty... cold, unwelcoming... These are a few of the words used to describe the dungeon classroom used for Potions. They say the decor reflects the owner; this is an excellent example.
A large desk stands at the head of the room, while the smaller student tables await their future inhabitants in strict lines. The only light source are the torches hung sparsely around the stone walls. There are hardly any decorations at all, except for two posters showing ingredients for complex potions. The chalkboard stands at the ready near the teacher's desk, blank. When one enters this room, a feeling of immediate depression seems to hang over one's head. This is not a happy person's room.

Scratch, scritch, scrutch, scritchy... The quill flew across the parchment which lay across his desk. He glanced up momentarily to take in the time, then, scowling, went back to his writings.
Ten minutes...
More scrutchy sounds filled the air as he finished his letter. Rolling it up and sealing it, he tossed it in the top left drawer and again glanced at the clock. His scowl was much deeper this time.
Seven minutes until class starts... where the bloody hell are those brats?!

A young girl stood outside the class room staring at the door. She looked around to see if anyone else was around and sighed.
Hopefully I'm not the first one here... she thought.
This was her first day here. All her other classes had gone wonderfully...but...she'd heard stories about this class. About the Professor. And frankly, potions wasn't her best subject.
Taking a deep breath, she hugged her books tighter and opened the door.

At the sound of timid footsteps, he looked up from his hands. His scowl quickly turned into a smirk.
Wary, this one is...
His gaze was quite piercing as he watched her make her way to a seat. Another look at the clock said five minutes remained.
Dispicable... No respect.
He stared at the girl with a gaze full of annoyance. "Girl. Where are the rest of your classmates?" he snapped.

Marlena wasn't having a good day at all. She'd missed breakfast, and now she was going to be close to late for the first class of the day. She ran down the dungeon hall glancing at her books to make sure she had all of them as she made the turn into the classroom and collided with something. Marlena's books went everywhere, and so did the ones belonging to the girl she ran into.
"I'm so sorry--" Marlena panted, bending down and picking up the girl's books. "I wasn't looking where I was going. I was afraid I was going to be late, and-- And..." She looked up and gave her a small smile. "Sorry."

ooc: *looks up* "um...not sure what one to reply to, so I hope this works...
She picked the seat clostest to the door and pulled the chair out. She usually sat towards the front of the classroom, but she felt better knowing that she could make a quick get-away if needed. She hadn't even sat down and already she wanted to leave.
"Oh, this is going to be fun...."
She reached out to put her books down on the table and answer the Professor's question. Unfortunately she was suddenly knocked forward and dropped all her books before she could do anything.
She turned when she heard someone begin to apologize, and a wave of relief struck her. "Oh, that's alright..." she said with a smile. "My fault for being so close to the door."
"Good! I won't be in here by myself."

OOC: Heh, sorry for the RP overload.
Marlena just smiled, finished picking up her books, and placed them on the desk behind the one that the other girl had picked. "My name's Marlena Rosinski." She said, sticking out her hand to be shook. "I'm new here, err, transferred from The States." She said, giving her a nervous smile.

The girl took her hand and smiled back. "Me too. This is my first day." she replied. "I'm Ally Collingwood."
She'd almost forgotten that class was about to start...

Marlena smiled. "Nice to meet you, Ally." She looked up at Snape, and gave him a wary smile. "Good morning, Professor." Marlena said, sitting down half-crosslegged on her seat.

Plum rushed into the room, tripping over the one of the desk and spilling her whole back pack contents on the floor. She gave an angry sigh and whispered. "why me..oh.." She hurried to pile her books back into her bag, including her comic strip and drawings she was making between classes. She was slammed them on a desk toward the front not brave enough to look at her Potions Master. Even though she was Slytherin, she was still afraid.

"Don't feel bad." Marlena whispered to the girl who'd just collided with a desk. "I did the same exact thing." She smiled, "My name's Marlena Rosinski. I'm new here," She nodded at the girl's tie. "Fellow Slytherin, eh? I think I've seen you around the common room. "

She gave a quick smile. "Hi, I'm Plum Deleth, nice to met you..yeah I think I seen you too." Plum pushed her long silky black hair behind her elfish ear. She took her potions text book out and sat down.

Eyebrow raised, he stares at all the commotions. Already this was not shaping up to be a good lesson. Once more, his characteristic scowl slid over his features.
He cleared his throat loudly, pointedly, "Now that everyone has spilt their bags and made a show, may I commence with the lesson?"
His cold steady gaze swept over them. He did not wait for an answer, and went right into his lecture.
"Draught of the Living Death. This is the potion we will be brewing today. Who knows what this potion does?"

Instead of raising her hand she blurted out the answer. "It puts you into a forever sleep like state, never waking up." She looked down at her book than looked back up to give a cute smile.

Ally glanced around the room nervously.
"Is this it...? Oh, no. Now i'm definately going to get called on at some point or another..."
She looked back down at her potions book and sighed.
