This anime chronicles a group of people who are able to summon these...warriors...to fight for them. It happens once per generation and each person summons a warrior who stays by their side and fights with them for the ultimate prize of the Holy Grail. The warriors are fighters from myth and historical renown who's souls are summoned back into the world for the fight.
My summarization does the anime no justice, and I highly recommend looking into it yourself if this sounds remotely interesting as the anime wasn't half bad.

I Have Never Heard Of It, But It Does Intrigue Me Now After Reading Your Description, So I Will Have To Check Youtube, And Wikipedia And See What I Can Find.
