Ted Nugent Blames Hippies for Divorce, Abortion, Drugs and Crime
It was only a matter of time before Ted Nugent decided to rain on the Summer of Love’s anniversary parade. In an article from today’s Wall Street Journal titled “The Summer of Drugs,” the notoriously opinionated guitar god took some time off his busy hunting schedule to blame “stoned, dirty, stinky hippies” for “rising rates of divorce, high school drop-outs, drug use, abortion, sexual diseases and crime, not to mention the exponential expansion of government and taxes.”
Highlights (including some choice words for Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin) after the jump:
On the Summer Of Love: “Honest and intelligent people will remember it for what it really was: the Summer of Drugs.”
On Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Mama Cass: “I often wonder what musical peaks they could have climbed had they not gagged to death on their own vomit.”
On the hippie movement: “Turned off by the work ethic and productive American Dream values of their parents, hippies instead opted for a cowardly, irresponsible lifestyle of random sex, life-destroying drugs and mostly soulless rock music that flourished in San Francisco.”
On life as the Nuge: “Clean and sober for 59 years, I am still rocking my brains out and approaching my 6,000th concert. Clean and sober is the real party.”

Well, Ted, not only are those artists you mentioned at least thirty thousand times better than yourself, but divorce, abortion, drugs, and crime were frequent long before the hippies had anything to do with it. My great grandmother was divorced in the thirties; my grandmother divorced in 1962. Neither had anything to do with hippies.
Abortion has being happening since the beginning of time, and the only difference is that now it's legalized and not so dangerous. It wasn't legalized for any moral reasons regarding the soul of an undeveloped fetus; it was legalized because for decades girls in the west were giving themselves abortions ("coat-hanger abortions") or going to phony doctors in back allies (or, if they were lucky, finding compassionate legal doctors who were willing to bend the law). Too often this resulted in the death of women and girls.
Drugs? Haha. Ancient. Marijuana's been highly popular in the USA for hundreds of years - crack cocaine was huge in the thirties. And the entire world's been drunk for millenia.
Crime? Ha. Hahahahaha!
What a nugget.

Honestly, I dont take him seriously. Wow. Cat scratch fever took oodles of talent to write rolleyes not only that, but hes ******** WEIRD. I mean like the kind of weird you wouldnt get into the car with if you were a hitch hiker and he was the person you flagged down. i watched him on his cribs and he was all LOLOLS I GOTS ME SOME MEATS IN DA FRIDGE I HUNTS ME SOME GAME ISE DA KING OF DA JUNGLE HAHAHAHAHA
damn man. oh and screw him to the soulless rock music. they pwn his a** at every corner.
