well... its hard to say that i dont... because my uncle (whom has almost the exact same patterns and reactions as i do in life) claims to has see one, but he drew a picture of him, (back in the 70s) and a friend that i respect immensely for his knowledge of the supernatural drew a picture of him, and the only differences were the proportion sizes and color scheme (one was jet black, and one was snow white). theyve both told me alot about it tho...

Doubtful in my opinion. But I do like to believe there are many things out there that humanity doesn't acknowledge as a whole.

TheGermankid Thank you ruthlessvizion, thats an great information you gave there.Thank you no problem my friend... and id like to throw out a different aspect on it for you all, in the japanese culture, Shinigami is the Archangel of Death, or the grim reaper, in Judaism its Samael, Azrael in Islamic Beliefs, and in celtic religion its Morrigan... who shows up as a crow at times. well, i think you can all see what im getting at, but let me tell you a story... one time me and some friends (about 15 of us) decided we were going to go camping... well it took about 3 months for all of us to get either work off or school off... we wanted to go down escalante canyon (located outside of st. george utah). it consisted of Escalante Canyon, Coyote Gulch, and a smaller canyon on the way out. well it was literally a week-long trip, you had to pack light (i took clothes, mres, bed roll & sleeping bag, my survival knife, and a canteen), the only thing other than what i carried that was extra for anyone was plastic water containers that could collapse and fit in anyones pack, but you had to fill them every now and then because of how long the hike was, and you could only fill them at the waters source (usually a spring coming straight out of the rock). i cant tell you how fun it was, one of the best times of my life... but we had a really weird encounter at one point. one of my friends michael (a russian exchange student studying at U of U to become a brain-surgeon) was with us, this is the same guy that drew the picture of the moth-man for me. he told us on the car drive over to the entrance of the canyon (you had to walk a good 3 miles to even get to it, the cars would have sunk into the soil if we had driven) that the moth-man took his mothers life, and he is an appiration that curses you with unholy sickness and takes the lives of your family members. he told me that when he saw it it was with a friend at U of U's tennis courts, they were playing at midnight or so and they saw it hovering over them, and it was snow-white and one of the most beautiful things they had ever seen, it was a large moth that had a snow-owls pattern, and a humans hed with red-eyes, he said after they spotted it it hovered slowly turning directions and dissappeared. michael said he had never felt so disgusting or terrified in his life, he said as soon as it was gone he was chilled to the bone... his sister called him the next day to tell him his mother had died of sudden heart-failure, and his friend told him a week later that he had seen it down in the boiler room, but that it was jet black with red eyes (the same way my uncle described it). well, we were in coyote gulch about halfway through the trip, and we found heiroglyphics from the native tribes up there... it was really cool because our friend laramie was a ute indian and he told us all about it, and i guess hes been there before and the park rangers actually come check on it weekly to make sure nothing has been disturbed. we found a little clearing a ways away and it was a man-made pond, it had been stocked with minnows by a ute tribe. laramie, after about 10 minutes, had decided that it was a sacred place and we shouldnt stay, and a couple of our friends who dont really believe in the supernatural at all said that that was b.s., so they stayed while laramie and a few others went to set up camp for the night. it didnt even take 20 minutes before they all came out totally freaked out because a gust of wind had blown down into the canyon and whipped branches everywhere and launched tree branches at people... it was really weird for us because at that point in the canyon, your so deep in, wind cant really reach you, it dies off before it gets to us, and what was weirder was laramie and the others of us that had decided to leave hadnt felt anything. well laramie decided we had angered his ancestors and he had to go make things right with them, he came back a bit later very upset, and told me someone had taken an arrow-head or a piece of pottery from the heiroglyphics spot... we talked to everyone and no one would admit it. laramie was really quiet the rest of the time, but i convinced him to come with me and matt and ben to go refill the water source. well we found a little clearing that was swamp-like and we took a break from the walk, we started telling stories back and forth and talking about other camping trips when i looked up and saw a raven, i told them about it because i think they are some of the most beautiful birds ive ever seen, and laramie freaked out, yelling in ute and closing his eyes and mumbling. he told us that the bird was, in his religion, one of the 6 evil spirits of the world (there are 13 spirits total, 1 great spirit, 6 good, and 6 evil, the evil are really good in pre-existence but must show man the errors of his ways and put man through the trials of the world). we told laramie to calm down but he wouldnt and he told us that we were all in danger, because the sign of the raven means hes taking someones life from your family. he told us he was safe because he had a blessing of a holy-man but everyone else that saw it was going to lose someone. i told him i had sweet sage brush tied by a medicine man and he told me that actually should prevent the spirit from affecting m family (i didnt know my parents had thrown it away thinking i was just trying to burn it to cover the sent of weed coming from my room). it followed us back to the camp-site and hovered over us off and on for the rest of the night. when i was getting to be dusk it started cawing, it was a weird rhythmn, it would caw slowly, then it got faster and faster till it was almost a gurgling noise and it really freaked me out. laramie told us it did that because it was mourning for the evil it had to bestow upon us. well when i got home... i found out my sweet sage brush was gone, and that my great-grandma had died the following day... this really chilled me to the bone. i tried talking to laramie about it but he wouldnt even respond to me on this subject. so i started talking to other people on the reservation, and they told me that laramie was telling the truth, that either an owl or a raven puts evil into your life... and i asked them why it would harm people and they said something to the affect of it protecting sacred native grounds and that if you disrupt native holy lands that it would usually come. well no one ever returned that damn arrow-head and i really believe thats why it happened to us. since then ive read up alot on evil spirits and i have come to believe whether its the arch-angel in christian beliefs, morrigan in celtic beliefs, the raven and owl in native beliefs, or just the appearance of the moth-man, they are all the same entity causing mischeif and taking our loved ones from us... i believe you will see this evil in whatever from your mind can handle, but its all the same to entity to me... another thing i forgot to mention, is that michael told us that after he saw this and his friend told him of the sighting, he got really sick, to the point he couldnt even go to class, so he took time off that symmester and went back to russia. he went to an old monastery out in the woods in the middle of winter in the province he grew up in. the holy men told him he had been touched by a great evil and they could help him. they led him out to a shed in the back and when he went in there was a large pool of water like a big well. he asked them what it was and they told him it was holy water, and that he had to get in it if he wanted to get better, and he told them more or less they were out of their minds because if he got in water this cold out in the middle of nowhere he would freeze to death, they told him it wasnt their jobs to meddle in his life or tell him what to do, but they had shown him the only way he would get better, and that he would die inevitably if he didnt. well eventually he got the balls to do so and by the end of the week he stayed there he was feeling like nothing had ever happened. he told me he talk to his old baby-sitter that was from spain, and that she told him what he saw, in her religion (although im not sure what it was because i thought that the dominant religion of spain was roman catholocism) that it was usually an owl, and that it would come back at least one more time in his life, and at that point in time, he must tell it to leave his life permanently, no matter how much it terrified him, or it would return throughout his life taking people he loved until he could stand up to it, or he eventually died... that is pretty much all i know or believe on the moth-man, its a spirit that has haunted my dreams pretty much since i was 14, along with another spiritual entity that is usually associated with death (although i feel much stronger about that one) and i have yet to actually see either while awake...

Your message freaked me a little out, but anyways. It seems that mothman just appears before something bad or evil happens. He wasn't only saw in the US! In Canada,Ukraine,Africa well lets say all over the world. In Japan he was seen from the most of the people that lived there before the US blow up Japan with an nuclear bomb. In my eyes he isn't evil or good,he is just there to send use a message. To warn use even. But I never heard of a white and a back one even that sounds really great. I never saw Mothman, and I don't really wish to see him, you never know what happens to you or the persons you love.
But I agree Ravens are beautiful birds. They even say this bird is holy. In the Nordic beliefs, the god Odin had 2 ravens. In The Little Hobbit they say raven where the friends of the dwarfs. So I don't see any evil in them.
I really hope we getting much more information on mothman through the guild!

It's safe to say that most everything is possible, including the existence of this Mothman. Personally, I never want to meet said creature if it does exist.
As for information through the guild...

Hmm I Don't Know. I Don't Really Honestly Believe In The Mothman. I Have A Really Hard Time Believing In Him. Though Ruthless Your Story Sounds Truthfull, But Sometimes I Think When People Are Overwhelmed, Or Maybe Sick [This Is Concerning Your Friends Who Saw Mothman On The Tennis Court] I Believe We Conjure Up Things In Our Heads, We See What We Want, Or Hear What We Want Too. I Know One Night While I Was Up A Little Late Playing A Game, My Dog [He's A Newfoundland] Was Right Out Of It, He Was In A Very Deep Sleep, When He Sleeps He Sleeps Heavy. I Was Alone, And Awake, About 3 In The Morning My Time. All Of A Sudden My Dog Stands Up And Just Howls, Exactly Like A Wolf But Much Deeper, He Just Kept Doing It And Looking In A Certain Direction As If He Was Scared Or Angry. I Swear I had Goosebumps Everywhere, I Had To Make Him Calm Down, Obviously Something In The House Had Spooked Him.
But Concerning Your Stories Sebastian, There Is No Evidence To Back Up What You're Saying. They Could Be Lying, Saying They Saw Mothman Before Hiroshima. That Adds Effect To The Story, And Makes Mothman Come To Life. I Really Think He Is Just An Added Ingreidient In Those Stories, That He Never Appeared.
I Think Mothman Is Just Another Name For A Spirit That Probably Has Many.

I Think Mothman Is Just Another Name For A Spirit That Probably Has Many. i DO believe that the mothman is a spirit that has many names, like i said we see it in the form we believe it to be, and as for the hiroshima incident, i saw that in the movie... my friend michael said that the movie had nothing to do with the real mothman, but my uncle said that when he heard that voice on the film it really got to him, i guess it just depends on who you talk to

I Guess Different People Get Overwhelmed By Different Things.
For Example, The Mothman May Be Overwhelming And Frightening To Some People, While Ghosts Are To Someone Else, Vampires Are To This Person, So On So Forth.
So There's A Great Possibility That Mothman Is All Of These Things.

Erhm.
Vampires.
I firmly believe they exist. But they're not the blood sucking type. The people who claim to be vampires and drink blood have a mental disorder, but I can't remember what's it's called.
The vampires I speak of feed off of energy. There are certain people that have a sort of drain on everyone. They're not very good people generally, and their actions are usually vile, their behavior crude.
I'm willing to believe that the blood sucking vampires out there do exist. But first, we must define "vampire". And not just some dictionary definition. What should we define as a vampire? I mean, we could say that credit cards are examples of vampires. Using them wrong will, shall we say, drain you of your money.
There are several ways to interpret many things, this Mothman included.

Hey guys! I was off for a few days and now I read what you all posted! I still believe there is a mothman. There are to many people that saw him,so we cant say that he doesn't exist. I really hope more people will see him so we could find out or better just to see why he is there or something......
