Ancient Ruins of Tyre-Lantos

Deeper in the forest than most of its inhabitants dare venture lay the ancient ruins of Tyre-Lantos, an ancient figure of dark arcanas. Powerful and wise, Tyre-Lantos locked himself away in a fortress made of thick stones, and there he did many things, among them inventing things that would later be recognized as almost advanced types of technology. Because he greatly feared using his massive power against innocent people in a bad way, he died alone in the fortress, with only his magic and his inventions to keep his grave company. The magic in his body crept forward and snaked themselves through the stones, burying his corpse, which to this day hasn't been found, and sending the stone walls into a state of decaying. Even today, tendrils of magic still wander about, spooking the occasional moogle, and many adventurers risk many a thing searching for Tyre-Lantos' magic books and schematics.

The moogles living in the ruins are quirky little furballs, with less than average social skills since they are few and far between in the massive ruins they scamper through. Spending more time on studying than on socializing, these moogles tend to simply blink at visitors and then scamper away in search of a new discovery. The remnants of Tyre-Lantos' magic sometimes shocks a moogle so badly they are paralyzed for several hours, and even then, they still continue their searches. The ruins are many, and the tendrils of magic that have stayed within the stone are proof that the ruins shall be there for many centuries, if not more.

Pako had headed straight for the ruins. It had took him a little longer then expected, but how was he supposed to know that the map was upside down? After finally making his way to the ruins, the moogle looked around. He hadn't been here often, always a little afraid of the magic and the odd moogles. Still, the sheer volume and power of the magic here attracted the little one. He'd save this place, then perhaps come back more often. Staff in hand, he warily approaches, ready to lay a firm whack on anything that moved.

Lute, her stride MUCH larger than the little moogle's, caught up easily with what seemed a walking red blanket. A small smile on her face, she picked him up by the shoulders and sat him on her head between her ears.

"It seems we hunt the same prey, little one," she said in common, her ear twitching as she fell into his speech to introduce herself.

"My name is Lute, kupo, what's yours?" Her dark hair contrasted the moogle on her head brightly, but Lute's eyes were busy scanning the ground for their enemy. According to the map...it seemed they were close.

"YEEEEEP!!!" His legs kick wildly as he was picked up, not sure what was going on until he was ont he head of the larger creature. He clung to her, looking afraid of falling. You might notice that he had a little moogle-sized guitar on his back. He speaks, but in a shakey and very uneasy voice. "P-Pak-ko...it's Pako..." He was taking deep breaths, trying to calm himself down.

Lute chuckled gently, her bright blue eyes darting back and forth, wary but eager to leap into the fray.

"Well, Pako, it seems we'll have to fight these vines off for the moogle village, yes?" Lute's ears twitched gently as she tried to get used to the moogle hangiing off her ear, giving a small smile and reaching up with her hand. "Nice to meet you, by the way," she added softly. She did, however, keep looking for the mark. She wanted to get this done quick. New weapons would not buy themselves, and neither would bangles and armor.

"Yes..." He was calming down now, but his grip didn't loosen. He was very intent on keeping his grip tight around this one's head. The blanket of red stayed put, looking like some sort of silly new hat with a pom-pom.

Lute smiled to herself - she had her own 'moogle helm'. The idea made her chuckle, and she spotted an overgrown vine. Was this them? She'd soon find out. She reached down and picked up a small stone, tossing it up and catching it again, and then shooting it at the vine, almost hoping it would react so she could kick its a**.

[Sorry for the short post, but things are kinda hectic.]

As soon as the rock hit the vine, the thing pulled back, whiping about angrily. The forest came alive around them as sounds of something moving through the underbrush erupted. There was one area in particular where the thrashing and noise was louder than most. The leaves shook angrily as something behind them moved about violently.

From behind a tree, a loud scream could be heard, and a very odd figure dashed towards the group. He was a human, his skin pure white with big floppy ars and a majestic blue uniform. He skidded to a stop, looking terrified. "The forest is alive! Run!" As he was about to continue running, the sound seemed to echo all around him. He wasn't sure where it was coming from. He looks to the two travellers. "Do you know how to fight? I think these things aren't friendly!" The moogle gives a nod, which startles the creature even further. He never considered that your odd hat would be alive.

Lute cracked her flail loudly and gave a wicked smile.

"Oh yes...I do know how to fight...and I look forward to each one," she said, cracking her flail again, skillfully snapping it around her teammates but without the poisoned tip touching any of them.

[taking over for Final]

From behind the bushes a group of three plant like "things" came out, swirling and dancing on the ground as their rabid vines whipped back and forth in a synchronized choreography.

ATTACK PHASE: Accuracy!
93 - 1d100 = 90

Lute raised her hand and brought the flail down sharply, aiming for the closest vine monster. She hadn't fought in quite some time, and she just hoped she wasn't too out of practice.

Lute's strike cut through the vines of the first plant, making swirl on the ground from pain, producing a horrifying sound of nail scratching a board.
The aberration took it's post on the front line to wait for it's chance of attacking.

The second plant came dashing and spinning it's vines towards the white skinned "human", showing off it's pointy thorns to perform the most damage possible.
