Summer's here, you people put on your weeny bikinis and stretchy speedos and enjoy freedom for a solid three months. From what I understand of the odd education system in the US, it officially means it's a new year of school after said vacation.
So, my adoring little Queenies, what do you plan to make of yourselves once you've hit the legal age? Further your studies? Laze around and leach off your parents? Get an internship/be an apprentice? What do you aspire to become in this short little life?
For me, I plan on being involved with the comic industry. I've heard one of the bigger companies (Marvel or DC) were planning to branch off and cater entirely to the female audience, if does happen, I'll be glad to jump on their bandwagon. If not, well... who said I couldn't work my own comic group to be the next CLAMP? Ahh, but if I fail on that end, I wouldn't mind one bit if I landed a job in fashion, more so as a designer whee heart
Besides, who wouldn't want to be the controversial but sensational designer that has all the elements of rock n' roll attached to it. What? Elmer Avenue? Hmm, maybe, if they let me have a whack at dressing their delicious models :9

i want to be a bioethics lawyer. That way, i can still be a lawyer but i get to fight for animal rights and environmental activism, not to mention better conditions for the human race, and i never have to represent criminals. Plus, it would allow me to live in either Scotland (working for the University of Edinburgh) or Arizona (in the Oro Valley area, where biotech firms outnumber schools).

Making comics would be a fun living, Memai. I'd love to do it, but I want to do a funny-ish one (because I can't stay serious), and I really doubt I could keep the creative juices flowing enough to make it work. Not to mention the fact that I'd probably have to draw it... razz But that'd be really cool if you get into that. Oooh! Give us discounts! xp
Be prepared for a lot of lawyer jokes, Scary. razz But man, living in Scotland, man! That'd be so cool! O____O
Umm, as for me, I plan to compose music for a living. I don't know in what type of media or nothin' yet, but I certainly would like to perform and the such. razz Failing that... I could probably go into writing about music or something, though I'd like to do stuff in the arts.

Scara >> Bioethics Lawyer? Wow, I've honestly never heard of such a thing before until you've mentioned it XD What do these cool peeps do? Are they hippies in suits or are things more complicated by that? >w< *prod prod* Sorry if it's sounds a little naive, I honestly never thought they had that branch of lawyers.
Scotland?! surprised I've got a bit of Scottish blood in me (great grandparents were from there!), got a clan and everything according to them X3 Wish I could remember what it was though...
Soren >> I'm really, easily amused. Even the word 'peanut' is enough to send me into a fit of giggles if you put it in the right tone wink Right now I'm working with a writer (which is my first time doing so!), hopefully when we get this project all settled down and finished, I'll either try and have it upload it somewhere on the net or get it published X3
Ah, a composer? surprised That'd be pretty awesome whee Every guy friend I make over the net are either musicians or writers, not that it's a bad thing X3 How do you plan on persuing it, if you don't mind me asking :3

Bioethics lawyers are, in fact, filthy hippies. In business suits. i will have to post some pictures of me in my business attire when i get back from DC. (Leaving for a legal conference there in six days. Hopefully i'll have my laptop back by then.) It's a pretty new field... pretty small, but even smaller pool of applicants. Basically, they hold protests in court, but it's not stopped by the police.

Sounds totally cool. biggrin
Err. I'm going to be changing my major to photography. 3nodding It used to be at Graphic Arts, but I think photography is what I want to do... I'll always have my music and singing on the side, though.... I would honestly have gone completely insane years ago if not for music... Anyhoo.

Go about pursuing it? Do you mean how I plan to get my foot in the door or something? O__o"
My friend is really into photography, Blue. razz I remember thinking about getting into it yeaaaars ago, and I now I regret not doing so. There's a lot of cool stuff to take pictures of. razz Are you like thinking about photojournalism or something?

That would be very interesting. But.. first I need to learn about photography... like film and stuff... I only use digital right now, but I want to be able to use film cameras and such... and use all the cool techniques and super good shutter speeds to get shots... I get frustrated trying to do motion shots on my digital! Panning only works so much!

Happy Friday the 13th, by the way XD
Soren >> Yeah, how do you plan on getting started on it? Are you gonna go like a rebel (forget about college and go hit up the LA joints) or a little more planned? Sorry, not making much sense these days @_@;
Scara >> Haaa, well... at least you're going for something out there that you fully believe in X3 Show them pictures, girlie heart
Blue >> I'm not so much into Photography, I guess it's because it's a bit of an expensive hobby to start out with (if you're really into it, that is...). I'm doing a degree in Graphic Design, though. At least that way I have a wider range of jobs to choose from, rather being stuck to Sequencing, which, can be easily mentored Xp

Well, I'm going to definitely go through college, 'cause I think there's nothing better than professional instruction in music. I don't want to be stuck like all the punk bands these days, just playing the same power chord progression for every song. razz Hopefully, I'll be able to get a BA in music composition, and then I'll head somewhere to network and such... probably play a few gigs and stuff to get started. I'll have to see how things go after college. The next four years'll be tricky as all heck. razz
Oh, whoa, it is Friday the 13th! Cool!! O____O *gets butcher knife*

I had to work on Friday the 13th. That was great. Actually, nothing too bad happened, except for the usual gits leaving their rooms in a state of disarray, but that's practically a normal work day for me anymore.
Anyhoo. Back on topic... 3nodding

After I'm done with school, I plan on taking about a year off and expierience things I've never done before. After I'm through with that, I'll start college for either a degree journalism, history, or theatre. However, right now, I've really got to concentrate on school. Got a lot on my plate, you know?
I ended up getting lost on the 13th... Well, not really lost. I knew where I was and all, but I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get to a certain road. I ended up calling a friend of mine who had to give directions... Same night, I saw License to Wed... In fact, when I got "lost", we were trying to get from the movie theatre to Wal*Mart.
... I couldn't for the life of me figure out why there was a cow pasture between me and the department store.

My boyfriend and i went over to our friend's house and watched Friday the Thirteenth parts II and VII. i'm not sure where we got those numbers. In other news, i think i've found my college. Either University of Chicago or Yale. Yale's especially nice, due to the massive number of biotech firms and law firms in Hartford. i could do an internship there, and pad a resume enough to pique the Edinburghers' collective interest. But i was born in Chicago and want to go home. And U of C's a great school. Very pretty.
