Do you think it's right what L is doing, trying to stop someone from playing God and ridding society of evil, or what Kira is doing, getting rid of evil and making people live in fear?

The way you worded it, I think almost everyone would support L because no one would want to be ruled by someone who was playing God. :/ But that's just the answer I'd give if I didn't know entirely what you were talking about. xD
I think Light's intentions were right. If someone began bumping off the criminals like he did, I'd support him. He just got a little side-tracked and power-crazed as time went on and he seemed to lose the original goal. It wasn't 'Clean up the rotten world.' anymore, it was 'Beat L and his successors and become God.' I think, anyway.
And like they actually say in the anime, whether or not Kira is evil depended on if he was caught. If he was caught, he was evil, if he wasn't, he was justice.

I feel that L is right.
I am not against killing people. No. There are ALOT of people I feel should die. And I would be willing to do the job.
But, the way that Kira is going about doing it. Is wrong.
I agree with caffeine add!ction, that in the begining, Kira was doing good. It then ended up with him going power crazed, and trying to kill L, and would do anything to kill him.
That is how humans are. So, that is why I agree with L.

If Kira managed to kill off everyone in the jails and people who got away, one wouldnt the population be a ton smaller, two yes people would probably be to scared to commit a crime but they the world would become boring and eventually forget about Kira because he isn't punishing people anymore.
Whats Kira going to to? Rule over a small boring world of people who dont even know he exists anymore? Seriously that would suck Kira would get so bored he would start commiting crimes for the hell of it.(well i would anyways lol)
But it is kinda nice he killed off the people who got away because they were claimed insane or some other stupid reason but i think he should wait till they are tried in court before he kills 'em off. If they go free or only get a couple years sure kill 'em then otherwise let 'em rot in jail! scream
So yeah i dont really agree completly with Kira but i dont completly agree with L either, so how bout they compromise?

I personaly think that ridding the world of criminals is a good idea, Light just gets sidetracked, as previously stated.
And who says downsizing the population is a bad idea? It would be like the natural selection that the present human species lacks.

well... I myself think that both of them are right up to one point.
Kira - is right because he wants no crime but on the other hand he himslef is killing people.
L - well.. I'm on his side a lot more.. I think he's right that he wants Kira out of the way but they will put a death penalty on Kira if he gets caught.

I'm with L on this one. And its not because he is my favorite character.
In my opinion, I think no matter who the person is or what the person says or does, the power to kill someone that easy will become their downfall. Kira was going about killing criminals here and there but soon this power from getting his hands on the Death Note consumed him.
I was suprised and I didn't realize this earlier but knowing how smart he was I figured he would stop, realizing what harm he was doing but since no one could really suspect him except for L and since he was killing off criminals he figured he could keep doing it without getting caught.
Of course though like some of yu said before he went mad with power and took advantage of this.
heh heh I feel like I'm repeating everyone....sorry sweatdrop

I'm on Kira's side.... but I like L better as a character, so I'm kinda glad Near won. Although I'd rather Mello had been the one to catch Kira. It would've been more interesting.
