So one of the computers I never use is finally toast. It apparently can't detect the primary hard drive. It can detect the secondary one, but it still won't start up.
All my stuff is on D: instead of C:, so I'm hoping that since it's detectable, it isn't fried.

That sounds painful! Perhaps it isn't the hard drives, but the cabling to your hard drives. Have you checked that for frays, tears, and etc.?

Nope. My dad actually fixes computers, so we're waiting for him to get home from work. 3nodding

My policy is not to touch it until someone who knows what they're doing is there. Hope it's just the C and you didn't lose your stuff. D:

I'm hoping like mad.
Well, actually, I've already stopped caring. Y'know. Since my default mood is apathy. Also since it's not confirmed that anything is lost yet.

I tend to email myself the assignment every time I save it. It's tedious but it works and has saved me a lot during comp crashes.

The D: drive is gone. sad
All my backgrounds, display pics, music, pictures.
Let's just say I had about 100 backgrounds, 300 display pics, 1000 songs, and probably 100 random pics.

The D: drive is gone. sad

Let's just say I had about 100 backgrounds, 300 display pics, 1000 songs, and probably 100 random pics. That sucks... Hope you can recover it somehow... I lost my old computor because the hard drive, cpu, cables, memory, and motherboard were baked to death. I couldent turn it off or it would occationally not boot up. After 3 months of running it someone turneds it off without shutting it down. When it wouldent boot up, we looked inside it and found out that the cooling fan had broken about a month ago. The stuff I touched on the inside literally crumbled.

No way to recover it without hours and hours of searching the internet to re-find everything. emo
