I haven't been playing Magi Nation for long, and actually I shouldn't even call it playing...its more like collecting. But from where I am standing, the new Magi Nation show looks pretty fruity, and I am even doubting the re-release of the card game. If there does happen to be one, I would guess the game follows completely different rules than what we are used to, just based off of all the changes made to Magi Nation itself. That would be a major kick in the teeth...
So, will you continue to play Magi Nation if the games aren't compatible? Right now, I'm leaning toward packing up my cards and selling them if they aren't. I just don't think it would be worth it to be let down like that.
And you KNOW the art will suck compared to the old art.

If they do remake the card game and it completely sucks a** and isn't compatible, I will from that point on refer to that version of magi-nation as "That Steaming Pile of Furok Crap". I will then continue to play what I will from that same point on refer to as "The real Magi-Nation".

nice topic pepper, ah my two cents would be i'm not going to sell my cards no matter what cause there really isn't anything like it in the world. If i was ever to sell it would have been way back in late 2001 when there were fears of a shut down, if only my last animite shop order would have returned I think it had 15 Rayje's belt coming my way that would have been nice...Actually having the animite sent back would have been nice too... I've already assumed many times in the guild that the new Magi-nation wouldn't be compatible with the old, so if it happens, I'm still in... But if the Game play isn't similar then the original then most likely it will be dumb down, and if thats true then I won't play that game... and just like akinternetdramon I will only play online old version.
I'm not yet counting the new art out cause the Creatures still seem close to Holmberg quality

If the games are not compatiable, I probably won't get into playing it. Well, there is a small chance I'll play it if it turns out to be REALLY well designed, but I have my doubts. If it's not compatiable, I'll just play using my old sleeved cards with my friends who still like Magi-Nation. I don't think I'll sell my old MND cards. I have too many good memories with them.

I've been through this too often in the industry, games coming back and not being half as good as they were before..My usual course of action is to box up my old ones, and keep them for those lovely nostalgia moments.
In this case, I'll do as said before..keep my Classic MND going, and refuse to admit the new one exists wink

I'm glad others feel the same way, i just got done visiting their new site and my god, i love the art and game of old MND but this... I don't even want people to know i had anything to do with magi-nation after this fall, the show looks extremely horrible and will probably cost them what little productivity they had left, and if they changed looks of characters and cards to be all CG and lame, I was frantically searching for a way to contact them just to try and say stop this you #$^@$!'s.
I think we should start a petition, against this, was the game really fruity? i've never played the GBA game, but it couldn't have been that bad.

The GBA Game? No, it was pretty well spot on, but then, I think 2I had a lot more input into that then I suspect they do to this. I have a strange feeling they may have locked themselves into a legal 'corner', they may have sold so many of the rights they can't do a thing about this butchery now.

I just hope there is some type of Card game and that the preview cards aren't it,(meaning no effect or powers)

Fosfur I just hope there is some type of Card game and that the preview cards aren't it,(meaning no effect or powers) I thought those were pretty much art samples. I don't like all the new art.
