A group of islands off the coast where water Pokemon thrive. The twisting tunnels beneath the islands are enough to get even the most experienced of trainers lost. Sometimes at night, a strange shadow can be seen darting though the waters. Pokemon appearances (7 posts, then roll 1 10-sided dice): 1= Krabby 2= Kingler 3= Seel 4= Zubat 5= Golbat 6= Horsea 7= Seadra 8= Tentacool 9= Tentacruel 10= Goldeen Levels are determined in the first post of battle, roll 1 4-sided dice: 1= 25 2= 26 3= 27 4= 28

A quick glance told Valsin that he was pushing his luck, for the sun's lower rim was almost to the horizon and his camp was some distance away on one of the adjacent islands. When the sun went down, he would have to bring Tarath to the ground, for flying over the treacherous waters at night would be no easy task, even for his keen eyes guiding the skilled Skarmory. It would be all too easy to get lost, and not have any place to land and rest over the vast expanse of the unforgiving ocean.
Still, the trainer pushed on, feeling a bit of elation and adrenaline at the half a dozen Rockets he had running scared along the shoreline, effectively keeping them from the entrance of the caves beneath the Whirl Islands. Although many of the henchmen had already entered the sacred place, Valsin was doing his best to make sure that no more would join their ranks. And knowing his teammates, who were working in other areas, their joint attack would prove useful in keeping the meddling teams at bay across the regions.
He hadn't seen Sylam or Malys for a couple of days now, but shook his thoughts from them for the time being, tapping a gentle hand onto Tarath's head as a communication between the two in the whipping winds. The Skarmory nodded in response, and Valsin tightened his grip on his partner's neck as Tarath flapped hard, striking with an Air Cutter that sliced parallel with the Rockets' path, keeping them on course as Tarath had to circle overhead to avoid overflying the group.
Valsin signaled a descent, as the two dove lower from their vantage above, to give the Skarmory better aim with his next strikes. An Air Slash soon followed, sending the remaining Rockets scurrying. Valsin once again managed to herd them much like a herd of cattle, away from the direction from which they had come. Smiling to himself, he motioned for Tarath to fly a bit faster, as they chased one wayward grunt, cutting a sharp right with ease and diving along a thinner channel of stone, cut clear through by hundreds of years of running water wearing down a smooth path.
The Rocket cut quick to the left suddenly, slipping through a smaller channel, and almost slipping in the loose sands of the beach. Valsin grinned, as he and Tarath followed suit.
As he did, two long poles rose up before him, uncrossing diagonally to stand vertical. It wasn't until Tarath and Valsin had plowed between the two that Valsin realized that there had been a net strung between the two poles.
Tarath let out a shocked screech, as both Skarmory and rider fell to the soft sand, kicking up a cloud as the Skarmory struggled against the steel cables that made up the netting, wings finally folding to his sides in defeat under the press of the net.
The moment Valsin touched ground, he kicked his feet backwards automatically, coughing as his lungs filled with sand, but managing to barely slide under the strong cables of the net before the two poles fell to the ground, completing the trap. He immediately set to freeing Tarath, struggling with the thick cables, managing to cut his fingers several times in his clumsiness brought on with a slight edge of panic.
Hearing laughter behind him, he realized that he didn't even have the time to recall the Skarmory into his Pokeball. Valsin turned slowly, grimacing at the sight that met him.
A squad of Rockets, each grinning broadly at the sorely outnumbered meddler, stood in a circle around Valsin and the Skarmory. From the throng of them stepped the one who was obviously the leader. Valsin wanted to turn back to Tarath, but knew he couldn't. He could hear the Skarmory struggling to free himself from the net, most likely succeeding, but at much to slow a pace.
The leader smirked, bringing up a Pokeball from his belt. Tossing it easily, a dark shape emerged from the gloom, flaring brightly as the Houndoom's flame flared to life, lighting the area and chasing away the shadows of the approaching twilight.
Valsin brought a Pokeball from his belt subtly, bringing it so that it was concealed beneath his long sleeve as he brought his hand slowly behind his back. He knew he had to defeat the leader quickly, hopefully to place enough shock into the underlings to give him enough time to free Tarath. He searched the leader's face for a moment, before charging forward, throwing the ball from his hand as the Sandslash appeared, charging towards the Houndoom without any word from Valsin. The fire type met the charge, as the two grappled for a moment, before the Sandslash kicked up a wave of sand into the canine's eyes, as the Rocket leader shouted something to his Pokemon. Valsin smiled as the fire type's flame flickered before going out, knowing that signaled near the end of the match if his opponent was losing steam this quick. His Sandslash charged forward, slashing at the spot where the Houndoom had stood, lashing out with spines and claws in a full force assault.
But it was no longer there.
Valsin turned, scanning the sands for a moment, just as bewildered as the Sandslash, at least, until the Sandslash turned to his trainer for guidance, but froze, eyes widening considerably with a cry of warning.
A fire flared to life behind Valsin ominously, making his own shadow cast in front of him, as Valsin caught the image of the Houndoom's shadow overlapping his own. It was accompanied by a low growl that sent shivers down his spine. That was the last thing he saw and heard, before a heavy blow landed on his back, knocking the wind from him. Then all he saw was black...

Another figure emerged from the group of Rockets, joining the first as he recalled his Houndoom with a smirk.
"That was an okay job I suppose, Cart," she sneered, "But did you really have to let this kid run rampant for so long before stopping him? He definitely put a delay in our plans."
"Not at all," Cart grinned as he cast his glance to Shum, the female, "I just needed a bit of entertainment, that's all. Too bad this kid was more easy to fool than I had given him credit for," he laughed, before motioning to the Rockets gathered around him. Upon closer inspection, though, it was quickly revealed that they were not normal Rockets, however. Many of them wore blue masks identical to the ones Shum and Cart wore.
Neo Rockets.
"Take him and bring him down to be detained," Cart ordered, motioning to the fallen Valsin. "We won't have anything interfering with our plans.
"What do we do with that?" one of the grunts dared to question, pointing to the Skarmory who was furiously working to free itself from the net, screeching every now and again to Valsin, trying to rouse his unconscious trainer to no avail.
"No matter, dispose of it. Its too wild to take for our own, and too weak to be of use," Shum waved her hand dismissively before turning heel along with Cart, as they and another group of Rockets, who dragged Valsin along behind them, made their way back to the entrance to the underground areas of the Whirl Islands. After all, there was still much work to be done.
A few of the grunts looked to the Skarmory for a moment, who was snapping at any who dared get close, striking out with steel wings that were slowly cutting even through the strong wire of the net. The grunts looked to each other, then back to the bird, before shrugging, the whole group following after the rest of the Neo Rockets. The Skarmory would free itself eventually, no use in sticking around until it does. Dealing with dangerous things wasn't in their job description, and losing limbs to the flailing steel wings didn't sound too appealing.
That would require extra pay.

{{No problem. ^^}}
"Good battle," Chloe grinned, seeing the strange cactus-like Pokemon faint. "So whaddya say we get to exploring!" she laughed happily. Despite the situation, she'd always wanted to come to the Whirl Islands, so it was a definite plus that they'd ended up here.
Chloe halted, hearing a strange noise rise up above the rocks.
"What on earth..." she murmured, curiosity getting the better of her as she made her way towards the source of the sound cautiously. It sounded like a cry of some sort, although she hadn't heard anything like it before. It sounded almost, metallic, if that was the right word. She couldn't place her finger on it.
"You hear that?" she murmured to Train, pointing down the coastline.

2/7 "Sure thing!" Chloe nodded with a grin, dashing off after Train as the two took off down the beach.
Farther down the beach, Tarath still struggled against the steel cables that bound him. He screeched again, snapping the last two cables with a triumphant cry, flapping to get airborne. Only one thing was in his mind at the moment, he HAD to get back to Valsin!
The Skarmory scanned the beachline, spotting the two trainers running down the beach, eyes narrowing. The Skarmory landed in front of the two, considering them for a moment, before screeching again, pointing with a wing to a cave entrance a few meters away.
