Movie Review of the Day: 300
300- does it live up to the hype? The answer is very simple: NO.
Nothing could live up to that hype. But it was good. One of the better movies this year, I'd say. It had fairly good acting, decent special effects, lots of action, etc. etc. etc. Everything a action flick needs. But it left me wanting... more. It seemed a bit short, and it was slow starting up.
Pros: Good all around.
Cons: Everything is in slow motion, a little on the 'Gay Porn' side.
Overall Score: 8/10.
Video Game Review of the Day: Resident Evil 4
I've decided to start off with an all-time favorite of mine: Resi 4. This game is just about one of the coolest ever, with jawesome guns, fun gameplay, and decent voice acting. However, even gems such as this one have their downsides... The graphics, horribly out-dated. The story... even more so. Some of the characters were pointless, and at times the puzzles were just flat-out ridiculous. Also a bit too short.
Pros: The Broken Butterfly. 'Nuff said.
Cons: Terrible Storyline. A bit on the short side.
Overall Score: 9/10.
Book Review of the Week: The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger, by Stephen King
Feh. Yes, that's how I'm starting off my review. Feh. And that's how it'll be, fellow CRs. ((Constant readers, as King calls us.)) This book is almost utterly pointless compared to the other six. It should have been melded into the second one, as it seemed to go around in circles. Still recommended, if you're a DT fan. Not a great way to start off a series, but still worth a read if you're seriously into to the DT world.
Pros: Cool Character, interesting plot.
Cons: Seems to go around in circles, accomplishes nothing by the end.
Overall Score: 6/10.
That's all for tonight, folks.
Tune in tomorrow for my exciting reviews of Disturbia, Tales of Symphonia, and the first installment of 'In Retrospective!'
