Whoo! So Caramel Breeze has started challenging me to write somewhat depressing things while I attempt to get the fighting scenes down pat. It's actually one of the ones I like the best so far. I got the idea of it while people watching in the mall.
Scorned
He had loved her with all of his heart, never caring how much he spent on the trifles she wanted or the newest fashions that she had to have. Every time she had walked into the room and flashed that beautiful smile at him, he had drowned in his love for her.
She had been his everything, the light in the darkness of his soul. Yet she had repaid him with this, hiding a lover from him within his own home. How could he not have seen the secret meetings, or the way she had been fixing her hair and dress when he walked into her garden to visit her.
It drove him into madness, knowing that she had been with another. He had loved her with all his heart, he still loved her and would greet her with open arms if she only asked for forgiveness.
Instead she had flung accusations about him being cold, driven with something inside. If only he could have hidden her from the rest of the world, hidden her from everyone except himself.
His thoughts swirled in his mind as he remembered walking into the room, only to find his beloved wife in the embrace of another. He didn't blame her though, oh how could he blame her for anything. It was the rest of the people that had to pay, they had tried to take her from him. He wouldn't stand for it, they would burn in the flames of hell for poisoning her innocence.
They would burn for what they had done.
- Thank you Marael for coming up with the title!
