Loud, angry yelling woke Miku up. She sat up, stretched, and yawned before rubbing her eyes drowsily and grumbling, "Geez, Dad, it's summer vacation for cryin' out loud... Lemme sleep a little longer..." Then she remembered what had happened at her house and... wherever the heck Yuuko's place was. 'Oh, yeah,' she thought. 'I was pulled into that white creature' mouth, along with all those other pe---' That's when it dawned on Miku. She slowly turned her head to the side...
And saw the two brown-haired teens, the white creature, the giant black-haired man, the blonde-haired woman, and the attractive blonde-haired man. All but the unconscious girl were staring at Miku, and the tall man seemed to have been having some sort of fight with the small white... whatever it was. The boy was staring at her in slight surprise, the woman was staring at her with a normal expression that stated simply, "Oh, you're awake now," and the blonde man was smiling at her, like he'd been when he addressed her directly at Yuuko's. This made Miku blush bright red.
"Yaaaay, she's awake!" the white creature exclaimed haapily, jumping onto Miku's head. She didn't expect it to neither move nor speak, so it doing both startled her so much that she squeaked when she felt it land with a muffled THUMP on her head.
"Don't worry. Mokona's harmless," the blonde-haired man said reassuringly, still giving her that beautiful smile. This made Miku blush even worse.
"Ooooooh, she's blushing!" Mokona exclaimed, hanging upside down in front of Miku's face.
"N- No, I'm not!!" Miku utterly panicked and quickly plucked Mokona off her head, but it just hopped down into her lap and sat there.
"Hey, her lap's comfortable! Everyone oughtta try nestling here! heart "
Miku didn't think there was a shade of red that could have been redder than her face at that moment. "M- Mokona, please don't say that!!"
"Let me try, Mokona," the blonde-haired man requested. Miku could swear her face was melting from its own heat. Mokona hopped from her lap onto the pavement, then the beautiful man laid down and rested his head in her lap. "Ah, this IS quite comfortable! Do you mind if I stay here?" the man asked Miku.
The poor girl was so flustered and so out of it that she could have been on the opposite end of the universe right then.
"Miss? Oh, that's right, I suppose we haven't been introduced yet. Everyone else did their introductions while you were sleeping. I'm Fai D. Flowright," the blonde-haired man said, smiling even more and tilting his head slightly.
Miku came out of her fangirl trance just in time to catch his introduction and see his little gesture. She turned regular pink and replied nervously, "I- I... My name's Miku Matsuo. I- It's nice to meet you, F- Fai-san..."
The boy leaned forward a little to get Miku's attention, which somehow worked. "I'm Syaoran, and this girl here's Sakura."
Mokona leaped onto Syaoran's shoulder and exclaimed, "Miku already knows Mokona's name!"
Miku giggled, saying, "Yeah, I guess I do." She turned her attention now to the two feudal-looking people sitting somewhat apart from the crowd, but not exactly close to each other, either. "And, um, you two?"
The blonde-haired woman smiled. "My name is Asuka Sakamoto. And this guy here is---"
"I can introduce myself. I don't need someone to say my name for me, especially some woman who was stupid enough to give any fighting ability she may have somehow had to that... WOMAN..." It was clear the man was having difficulties refraining from calling Yuuko something worse.
"Well, excuse me if I wanted my wish granted more than having abilities that hindered the chance of it coming true!! And besides you gave up your 'precious sword' to 'that woman'..." Asuka retorted back, clearly mocking the man.
He clenched his fists and ground his teeth together in severe frustration, growling, "You nasty little..."
Fai took the moment to clear his throat quite loudly, catching both warriors attentions. "Sorry to interrupt your lovers' spat..."
"It's not a lovers' spat, you damned mage!! scream " the black-haired man yelled at Fai, who ignored him and carried on.
"...but you still haven't introduced yourself, Kuro-lin."
"Kuro-lin...?" Miku was utterly confused, but at least it kept her thoughts away from the beautiful blonde man whose head was still laying quite nicely in her lap.
"I TOLD YOU, MY NAME'S KUROGANE!!! QUIT USING THOSE STUPID NAMES, DAMMIT!!!!" the man yelled loudly, forcing almost everyone to cover their ears to keep from going deaf.
"But I've barely begun, Kuro-tan! heart " Fai said with a big smile, finally sitting up. Miku put a hand to her heart and breathed in relief. "Anyway, anyone know where we are?"
The group of travelers looked around themselves to see concrete roads, tall buildings, and a whole scrapheap of cars and buses that littered the whole area they were in. No one knew the place in the least, but Miku noticed how similar it was to her own world.
"Hey, wherever we are, this is a lot like my home world!" Miku said, trying to make a good impression on her new travel companions. "It shouldn't be too hard for me to understand how things work here!"
"You guys had better clear outta here!!" a distressed voice called.
The group turned and saw a boy about Syaoran's age with short black hair, a uniform similar to Watanuki's, and dots for eyes standing a few feet away, looking a little panicked. "Why? What is it?" Syaoran asked him.
"Don't tell me you don't know?! You've gotta be from somewhere else, then! It doesn't matter, just hurry up and move!"
"But what's the problem?" Fai asked.
Just then, two very different gangs showed up on either side of the area, leaving the boy and the travelers stuck in the middle. But neither side seemed to be paying any attention to them at the moment. The boy hastily looked around and spotted a good hiding place behind a wrecked bus. "Over there! Follow me!" he commanded the group, who waited only a moment before following. As they all hid, the boy introduced himself as Masayoshi and explained about the two gangs, in particular the gang of the man with sandy hair that was tied down in a ponytail and wore goggles and a scarf. Masayoshi said his name was Shogo Asagi.
Miku blushed when she looked at the guy, standing at the front of his gang and looking so confident with that smirk. She couldn't restrain her fangirl thoughts of, 'He's cute, too! But Fai-san's still cuter... But it would never happen, since he's a grown man! ...I think.'
After some conversation, the two groups began duking it out with some odd form of energy, which Masayoshi explained were Kudan. This still left everyone baffled as to what that meant they were. Fai then plucked a strange white feather from Syaoran's cloak and went to give it him, but an attack from a Kudan sent it flying. Without hesitation, Syaoran dashed out into the open, right in the middle of the battle. He managed to catch the runaway feather, but was nearly struck by a Kudan attack from the gang with Mohawks and leather jackets. What seemed to be merely a burst of flame shielded him from the attacked, then was revealed to have the form of what resembled a wolf, but with a long horn protruding from its flaming head. After Syaoran and the creature chased the offending gang off, Shogo's still remained. Apparently, the flaming wolf-like creature aiding Syaoran was a Kudan, but was only Syaoran's. Kudans were people-specific, and Syaoran had one in the highest rank of all. Unfortunately, so did Shogo. His was in the form of a giant ray that controlled water. The fight looked unfair, but Miku still remembered that fire could evaporate water if it was hot enough.
"Come on, Syaoran-kun!! Kick his butt and send him packing!" she called, waving wildly to the young boy. He seemed somewhat thrown off by the sudden cheering, but smiled back. 'He's adorable!' Miku thought with a big smile. Her enthusiasm about the battle clouded her sight to anything beyond her battling friend, which included the look she was getting from Shogo himself.
After the initial clash between Syaoran and Shogo, Miku went into an all-out fantasy-battle fangirl frenzy. This made it perfectly clear to her companions that she had gotten over her earlier nervousness, and made her draw even MORE attention to herself, including a few words from Kurogane.
"Would you shut the hell up!? Don't screw up a person's concentration when they're fighting!!" Kurogane yelled at the excited teenager, who immediately whimpered in fright and instinctively ducked behind the person standing closest to her at the moment: Fai.
"He's scary..." she muttered, shaking all over.
Fai just smiled and patted her on the head, saying, "There, there. I won't let mean old Kuro-chu hurt you, teddy bear."
The brilliant scarlet blush was back instantly. Seems it liked plaguing Miku. "T- Teddy bear...?"
"Yep, that's right! heart " Fai's smile only grew.
"Why... Why am I a...?"
Everyone stopped talking when they noticed Shogo approaching. He pushed up his goggles and stared silently at Miku a while before plastering that confident smirk on his face and asking, "Hey, what's your name?"
Miku only stared in disbelief, thinking, 'Why's he wanna know my name?'
"Come on, now, don't leave me hanging here. All I'm asking for is your name."
"Um..." Miku coughed and cleared her throat. "I- It's Miku Matsuo. Why do you wanna...?"
"You're pretty cute, you know," Shogo stated bluntly, throwing the girl off.
"H- Huh?! D- Don't say something so blunt when we've just met, Shogo-san!!" she remarked, flustered once again. She put both hands to her face, only adding to her "cute quality," as certain people present would put it.
"Say, how about you and I go on a date, Miku? I can tell you're new, so I could show you around the city. What do you say?" Shogo continued smirking like always.
Miku, on the other hand, flipped out again. 'We've only just met, and he's already using my first name BY ITSELF? I don't understand this guy... Not at ALL...' Miku was totally exasperated by this time.
Fai remedied the problem by wrapping his arms around Miku in a cute embrace. "Sorry, Shogo-san, but Teddy Bear here is already called for, heart " he said with his usual and oh-so-gorgeous smile.
Shogo looked like he'd been hit by a rock. "You're kidding, right? You two couldn't really be---"
"But we are! heart " To prove his point, the blonde wizard kissed Miku on her cheek, which instantly turned from pale pink to deep crimson, and she spaced out yet again. "Now if you don't mind, we're all going to find somewhere to stay for the night." Fai started off, pulling the dazed Miku along by her hand. Shogo wanted to stop them, but the sound of police sirens changed his mind, and he and his gang scurried off to avoid apprehension.
Not much later, Sorata and Arashi Arisugawa arrived on the scene and took the group back to the apartment building they ran together. Masayoshi left them after that, and after some warnings Sorata gave Kurogane about seducing Arashi, and some (not so important) facts and details about the world they'd arrived in, called the Hanshin Republic, the group made themselves comfortable in one big room and hunkered down for the night.
As she drifted off into slumber, Miku couldn't help but wonder, 'After an arrival day like this, I wonder what's in store for us tomorrow?' Not giving it another thought, however, she closed her eyes and went to sleep.
