When you first hear someone close to you is dead your first reaction is shock, then sadness that is usually accompanied by crying, then anger. I have gone through these stages many times but none of them have lasted as long in one big block as they did today. Today I found out that Louis Skinner, one of my good friends, died at age 16. I did not know him very well because he lived in Florida and I just met him a couple months ago but I cried for an hour. Now I'm able to look at his name, or look at the newspaper article about his death without breaking into tears. There are some people that you know they have gone to soon. He was one of these people. He was a kind, loving person who was always cheerful, always there to help someone. I found out he died at 4:08 PM and I stopped sobbing at 5:07 PM. This made me realize that life is short cherish every moment you have and don't take advantage of it. The saying "Dance like nobody's watching, sing like nobody's listening, laugh like there's no tomorrow" is now one of the truest statements I have ever heard. If you only read one part of this whole journal, please read and absorb this: Live life to it's fullest and never look back.
