Yesterday, I took the train downtown and walked over to Little Tokyo. I always have a lot of fun at the Kinokuniya Bookstore and usually end up buying something new--this time another Kanji study book and a set of basic readers for kids. Anything I can do to help me study Japanese is worth it, though. I also picked up a cheap and tasty Obento lunch from Marukai that I ate back at Union Station. It was nice, but quick.
I really went downtown so I could pick up my Amtrak ticket for San Diego next week. I'm going to Comic Con International on Thursday and Friday! I waited too long this year--almost too late--before deciding to go, and it was hard to find a hotel that didn't cost an arm and a leg. gonk I settled for one downtown that only cost an arm and will spend two days there--that should be enough. I like the Thursday & Friday instead of the weekend because there are just so many people there on Saturday and Sunday. When I last went two years ago, there were 100,000 attendees over the four days of the con! I think I saw every one of them on Saturday... xp
So I'm getting my shopping list and credit card ready. I'll let you know all about it too!
