Mitsuko jumped at the echoing voice. Unable to see anything in the tight darkness. She felt as though there was no air to breath and she reached up with a shaking hand to grip her amulet. She felt slightly reassured but not enough to stop from shaking slightly. Holding out her hand, a ball of golden light formed in her palm. Sadly, it did little to penetrate the darkness around her. "Mitsuko Aliana Donokit..." She cringed at the voice. A coldness dripped down the back of her neck, down her spine. She turned, feeling a cold breath on her neck. No one was there. She clenched her fist tighter around her necklace. Suddenly, the ball of light in her palm was extinguished. She gasped, urging the light to return. A skeletal hand gripped her wrist in a tight grip. She gasped again, turning to stare up into a blood red eyes. "Show me your fears..." Her green eyes widened in fear as she saw everythign she feared in those eyes. She watched in horror as each of her friends died. First Mori, Ame, Neko, Eda...Then Naorko, Rayne, Monica...And finally...Code. She released a loud scream, tears coming to her eyes. She couldn't lose him. She wouldn't! "NO!" She blinked and turned her head away from those red eyes, closing her eyes tightly. She knew not to look at him, unless she was to be captured in her fears. The hand on her wrist tightened it's grip even more and she winced. "Death, I have come here to make a deal with you." "I know why you are here, Mitsuko Aliana Donokit. I know plenty..." The hand released her wrist and she opened her eyes. She was in a well lit room. The walls were made of stone. An open door showed rows of cabinets holding scrolls. A desk stood at one end of the room where a man sat, his hands folded on the desk. Mitsuko blinked in suprise. He did not look like Death. He seemed to look like a mortal man only with unnatural red eyes. He wore black slacks with no shirt. His hair was a vibrant red, which stood out against his pale flesh. If Mitsuko hadn't met him under these terms, she would have found him charming. Then she noted the Sythe in the corner of the room and cleared her throat. "Sit, Mitsuko. We have plenty to discuss." He gestured to a chair across from him. She sat down slowly, keeping her green gaze focus on the wall behind him. Folding her hands in her lap, she lifted her chin slightly. "I know how much you like making deals, Death. I am sure you know of the prophecy that is key to my death, correct?" He chuckled and leaned back in his chair, his pale fingers pressed together. He smiled, his eyes narrowing slightly as he looked her over. "Yes, I know of the prophecy. I helped write half of it. The prophecy of Sacrificed Love. A delicious tale, actually. My guess, Princess, is that you fear for the life of your lover." Mitsuko said nothing, merely nodding. The room seemed to grow colder around her, her shoulder stiffened. She hated listening to the prophecy and knowing that this...God had help write it and seal her fate...Shaking her head, she forced herself to look him in the eye, her lips set in a frown. "Enough, Death. I want to make this quick and simple." Another bone chilling chuckle escaped the pale lips of the man across from her. He shook his head slightly and waved his hand. A scroll floated off of one of the shelves and landed with a light thud on the desk. He unrolled it quickly and began to run his finger over it. Words flashed onto the parchment before fading quickly. Looking up at her, he smirked. "Is there anything else you would like?" "I want to see Syi once more, alive and breathing." He blinked for a moment, looking her over with even more interest. His finger continued to run over the parchment as more words formed and faded. Clearing his throat, he looked back downa t the parchment then pushed it towards her. "Very well. You will see your son once more before I come to take you away. I'll give you 2 days to say your final goodbyes. Just sign..." He handed her a black feathered quill. TAking it in her palm, Mitsuko closed her eyes and uttered a single prayer before pressing the tip against her gloved finger. The tip of the quill was sharp like a needle, pricking her finger so that she began to bleed. One drop of crimson blood dripped onto the parchment. Her signature appeared and vanished as well, written in her own blood. Death snatched up the parchment and rolled it up. Standing, he walked over to the shelves where he kept the contracts and placed the scroll into one of the slots. Turning back to her, he crossed his arms over her chest. "It is done. I do hope this lover of yours is worth it..." Mitsuko stood and tightly gripped the hilt of her sword. Turning, she walked over to stand before him. Her green eyes flashed brightly with anger. "He is...I love him very much." Death sighed and waved his hand so that a black portal appeared nearby. A light wind brushed Mitsuko's cheeks and ruffled her bangs into her eyes. Looking back at her, he shook his head and smiled. "Very well. If he is worth it, than he is a very lucky man. Now go, Princess. You have only 2 days to say farwell." Mitsuko nodded and turned to the portal. Closing her eyes, she stepped forward and vanished. She reappeared just outside of the Angel's Haven, her friends were all inside talking. A single tear fell from her eye as she tossed her sword to the ground and walked inside, smiling as though nothing was wrong.
