I'm in love with my g/f. She kicks a** so much. The next couple of days I most likely won't be able to talk to her, but I look forward to being able to in the future. Anyway, she's driving!! And I have complete faith that she'll do really well. The thought of her behind a wheel, quite frankly, turns me on, and I'm quite anxious to see what sort of driver she evolves into. This should be an interesting journey.
I have a new favourite song as well. After much deliberation, I have decided that The Evil That Men Do by Iron Maiden is a fantastic piece. The lyrics are nothing special:
Love is a razor and I walked the line On that silver blade Slept in the dust with his daughter Her eyes red with The slaughter of innocence But I will pray for her I will call her name out loud I would bleed for her If only I could see her now
Living on a razor's edge Balancing on a ledge Living on a razor's edge
The evil that men do lives on and on... The evil that men do lives on and on... The evil that men do lives on and on... The evil that men do lives on and on...
Circle of fire my baptism of joy and at an end it seems The seventh lamb slain The book of life opens before me But I will pray for you And some day I may return Don't you cry for me Beyond is where I learn
but frankly, they fit the music perfectly. Far as I can tell it's about a suicide, which is further reason to hate it (what song nowadays ISN'T about suicide?) but one has to hear it to truly devour its meaning. Listen several times over and with intense mastication (allegorically...and if you think that's dirty then look it up) and you've got an amazing work of art.
In other news, my face is peeling off. I imagine if I had spent any more time in my jolly little strut to and from the university I would literally be absent of skin. The very temperature outside made me want (and I'm using the word "want" loosely here) to throw off my clothes and declare myself a lifelong nudist. If not for the fact that I had a backpack with me and the area around the college is known for thefts (with pickpockets so good they could snatch themselves up a kidney if they wanted it) I may very well have.
Luckily I had my Iron Maiden CD's with me for comfort and an air of familiarity, which glided past my tortured brain (scorching weather has sick effects on my mind) like warm homemade pudding through a constipated stomach/ intestine. For who wouldn't be comforted by lyrics like "With every second and passing breath you'll be so alone your soul will bleed to death" or "I'll possess your body and I'll make you burn?"
