*sigh* There are lots of anti 2% tax threads popping up everywhere, with countless comments exactly like that one. It's just...humiliating, I think. I think it's fine to disagree with other people. I think it's fine to disagree with the admins' and web designers' choices. But just...it's not fine to go and attack everyone because of that disagreement. As an occasional vendor myself, yes, I agree that the 2% tax is somewhat of a downer. Do I like it? Nah, not really. Does it actually really affect my life? No. Am I going to throw a tantrum over it? Of course not. It seems silly that so many people on Gaia tantrum so much.
I mean, come on, the mods and admins have it tough enough as it is. The hacking and scamming, the botting, the general maliciousness of many people (especially seeing as how this is an online and anonymous company), it's already so much stress for them.
Lanzer already explained--quite well and quite democratically--why it is important for Gaia to go through a test run of 2% marketplace tax. They've consulted experts about the insane economy and wildfire inflation, and were advised to use a tax system to calm it all down. Lanzer and the other admins feel guilty about imposing this on their beloved Gaians. I just wish that everyone could be mature enough to realize this, accept it, move on, and stop with all the pissing and moaning about it. =/
