The night screamed with silence.Snow danced to the ground. The trees glistened like stars. The only thing that broke the silence was a young man.
He was a priest named Troja. His cape was whipping at his back as he ran. His heart pounded in his chest. His mind was playing tricks on him. He was lost in the forest of Herika.
Damn it all to Hell, he thought, why did I go out to day? My merciful Lord help me out of the forest.
A sound trickled to his ears. He stopped running at the soft cry. It sounde like a little girl was crying 'mommy'. He slowly went towards the noise.
He was led to a clearing of the forest. There was a young girl with elven ears crying in a pool of blood. On the ground lying motionless beside the blood was a woman, with her eyes closed. Tears sprung to Troja's eyes.
"Little girl? Are you alright?", he whispered softly.
She didn't hear him; a faint blue glow surrounded her and the woman. He crept closer to the girl. The light went out, the woman didn't stir. The little girl screamed as if she were dying.
