music ranting
so I was listening to a Death Cab for Cutie mix cd the other day, and the song "The Sound of Settling" came on. For the first time I really what was going on lyricly. what Ben is talking about is being in love but being to afraid to speak up, so instead he settles for less that what he wants; however when I hear that opening phrase I think of something completely different. The line is "I've got a hunger twisting my stomach into knots," to me that line is more about self-injury. That's just one of the best ways how to describe the way it feels, when I have that urge; however I refuse to act on it.

Recently I've had the chance to sit down and listen to the new James Blunt album All the Lost Souls and the title of the second track caught my eye it's "One of the Brightest Stars" which reminded me of a comment I've made many a time on relationships or just females in general. "Every star that I see is brighter than the last, but even the brightest burn out." I don't look to the stars very often, it still holds true; although some stars fade out quicker than others. I'm referring to a young lady how at first I felt close to at first, it was easy to. She made me happy for the first time in months and it felt it was ok to be happy, but then I was forced to take a few steps back. At first something told me to hang on to her a tight as I could, and now that same thing inside me says it would be best if I just walked away.

then there's a few more songs I've been thinking about one is "Let It Go" by Blue October, it reminds me of "Her" one line that always grabs me is "I'll show you the road I led you the wrong way on." The other song is "Hey There Delilah" by The Plain White T's within a few bars that song can destroy me.

on a final note I was listening to the Get Up Kids today and in one song it states "All good sinners go to Hell" and I couldn't help to think how true that was
