[name] Theodore Arin Hope (Thee-oh-door) (Er-in) (Hope)
[nicknames i like] Theo is tolerable. [nicknames i hate] Ted, Teddy.
[other people's opinions] Quiet, polite, and visionary. [self-perception] Depraved, intemperate, and reflective.
[gender] Male.
[homeland] New Orleans, Louisiana, but moved to New York City.
[birthday] Feb 20th [astrological sign, optional] Pisces [age] 26
[education] Theo graduated highschool with great dreams. However, due to lack of money he doesn't and never did attent college. [occupation] He's an author, who has had recent popularity thanks to his latest books. His books are mostly on psychology and philosophy.
[blood parents] Ian Hope and Myra Hope nee West [siblings] Dorothy 'Dolly' Hope [family life] Theodore loves his mother and sister dearly. His father was convicted of the rape of Dolly when she was nine and Theo was ten. Theodore took this event to heart, and took a sudden interest in criminology. He is more interested in learning 'why' that way it can be prevented, instead of the punishment that can only happen after it takes place. He views rape as far worse than death.
[weapon] Whatever he can get his hands on. Or, y'know, just his hands. His murders are never premeditated.
[appearance] Theodore doesn't spend much time on his appearance. He has flat dark brown hair and round silver wire-rimmed glasses. Behind them are light blue eyes. He is often times unshaven, and his teeth are yellow from smoking too much. He wears expensive looking suits, but they're not taken care of, so they're wrinkled and rumpled. He is relatively tall, though malnourished and thin.
[history/biography] Theo has always taken an almost unhealthy interest in how the human brain works, especially in criminology. They fascinated him. There were those, who killed for a cause, the righteous. There were those who killed for revenge, the sympathized. And then were the enigmas. No one understood why they did it, sometimes not even the killers themselves. Theodore never understood this until he was a member of this group himself. The first time he killed someone, h had no apparant reason for it. It was instinctive, as if he had been doing it his whole life.
That is when the Copycat Murders began. Bodies were found all around new york. The serial killer's style was never his own. It was always an imitation of infamous serial killers; Jack the Ripper, Bible John, Ted Bundy, Elizabeth Bathory, Zodiac, and more. That killer was Theodore Hope.
He did not shy away from the issue publicly. While he never admitted that he was indeed the Copycat, he was very involved with the cases. He was an author of a series of books called the Copycat Chronicals. It revolved around the murders of Copycat. He received express permission to go to the scenes of the crimes with the detectives for his research. It was partially so that he could keep the detectives from suspecting him, but partially for actual research. He didn't understand why he killed. He wanted to learn more about the way his own mind worked. Even to himself, he was an enigma. Copycat felt like another person entirely.
[personality] He's a bit antisocial. He is always lost in his own thoughts. However, when he is confronted or interacts with others, he is friendly. He does not shy away from people, necesarilly. He just tends to forget about them entirely, because his mind is so chaotic and full of new theories and ideas. It's always the quiet ones, as they say.
He knows he is sick. He knows what he is doing is wrong. However, he also knows he does not have the will to change himself. He thinks that if he has to murder people, then society should at least benefit from the losses he is causing. He hopes to use himself as a case study and make a breakthrough that will help science cure sick minds like his own. Once he is successful in this, he plans to turn himself in. He is a little bit arrogant, in thinking that where others had failed to find a solution, he will succeed, which is why he doesn't turn himself in now. It could also be a bit of an excuse, because no one wants to get the death sentence.
[likes] Reading, writing, learning, hearing intelligent opinions/perspectives that differ with his own, desserts.
[dislikes] Smoking, making money off of other people's misfortune (i.e. The Copycat Chronicals), murder, rape.
[theme song] The Kid Who Collected Crimes by the Residents Sunrise, Sunset by Bright Eyes
[Alignment] Lawful Evil
