I hate being sick. It is no fun at all. Must make up school work, and feel miserable while doing it!
Anyways, heres a nice rant to keep you people occupied.
Alright so I seem to have a medium-large ego right? Though of course sometimes I am proud of it, sometimes I am not. Well I can't really balance all of that aymore. So I might be leaning more towards not proud now.
Anyways! People hear me mention my brother alot yeah? Well thats because he is totally awesome. 9 years older than me and he has already graduated college and has a job in the field he got his BA in. He introduced me to videogaming. I would sit there and watch him play Sonic for hours. I was learning I guess. Learning how to play at that time. The basics in mind-set, dexterity, and speed.
Some think video games are just button mashing, WRONG. Button mashing is when I try to type way to fast. So I started picking up the controller around three years old. So that puts me in the business for a decade. But I don't know if anyone else noticed this or not. But right around age8-10 you 'wake up'. You start REALLY thinking. You are conscious of what you just did, what you're doing, and what you plan on doing next without devoting solid thought to it.
Maybe its just me on that, but anyways, I 'woke up' around 9 or so. Thats when I became a real gamer. Starting with Super Smash Brothers I have been chasing my brother and been gaining for four years. I'm coming close, with the near-ness of the Brawl Release I have little doubt I can catch up and overtake him.
That and I suck at Halo. But I also suck at FPS (first person shooters) on the computer. Don't give me that look guys, the mouse and keyboard can never replace the gamepads I've held so closely ever since my start. I would LAUGH at WASD and left, right clicks even the scroll wheel and side buttons if I had two triggers, two analog sticks, and those buttons I manipulate to my divine gamer's will.
Now yes comp's have themselves a solid point in RPGs and strategies, but thats it for me. I like the feel of a big screen coupled with a real trigger for my t-finger(trigger finger). A solid melee into someone's face followed by pressing fire to get the shotgun to do rapid fire and a 'nade into the face of some poor sap. That is bliss.
Also sniping. I suck at it on compers. I am well, I'm OK on the consoles. Not great though. Also I prefer to drive with a controller not a clunky mouse substitute that doesn't make small-geographical sense at all.
At an abrupt end, but that is my rant for the night. It is longer than most. And I tried to fill it with my personality and famed smiles, metaphors, and analogies.
On a final note, I hope to one day have a special someone by my side that will be willing to Pwn or get PWned. And will have a good time of it to, no matter which way the pwnage goes. Seeing as how I plan on building my life 'pon gaming, its good to know that someone who is more important than I am to myself takes an interest in it as well.
