Nonsensical Insanities
Cat and Mouse
One of the cutest and more interesting of things I've come across in a while.
It's so adorable in fact, that I didn't even mind the horrible puns made in the headlines like 'Mutant Mouse no Scaredy-Cat'. rofl

Scientists from Japan's Tokyo Universit have discovered a way to make mice warm up to their mortal enemy - the cat. By genetically removing parts of the olfactory lobe (the section of the brain that deals with scent) to stop mice from running in fear whenever the smell a cat. Though this supports the argument that a mouse's fear of cats is genetic, the scientists also found that they genetically modified mice can still be 'taught' to fear cats. Which suggests that fear is still, as it has been believed, a learned response to environment/experience.

I decided to add a video to show just how hilariously cute the whole thing was, although some will undoubtedly disagree. It might sound warm and fuzzy and harmless now, but just imagine the reaction when they start genetically modifying even the most trivial aspects of the human genome. sweatdrop

Oh, the joys of genetic modification. Well, maybe not for the cat, which seems rather confused by the new-and-improved mouse. Perhaps it's the news crew? Either that or they've done something to the cat as well, so that it's scared of mice. xd
