Black Dragon and the Tears of Gold
Proud and majestic the Black Dragon lives in the cave
Once long ago love's silver tongue made him it's slave
He surrendered to it's trap and wallowed in it's doom
Time, swift as the wind, passes relinquishing his gloom
Transformed by a creature that appeared in his midst
Moonlight softly glowing on her hair sun-kissed
Beauty tames the beast and touches his soul
Battle scars visible to eyes and heart she mends making him whole
She teases and taunts the dragon keeping him on his toes
He loves her glowing energy blushing her cheeks like a rose
Unaware of his intentions even in her eyes
She does not see the love hidden in disguise
Tears fall down her cheeks turning to gold
As she disappears into the vise-like cold
The Black Dragon searches vainly for her high and low
Frantically asking everyone but no one seems to know
If only the Dragon had not hid his love in disguise
She would be resting in his arms instead of tears of gold in his eyes.....
