Hand In Hand
I'm walking around now,
My hand in my pockets,
and My head kept down.
Wondering,
"What kind of world is this?"
"What kind of person have I become?"
"What have I done?"
Inwrdly I ask myself what went wrong.
How it all started and how it all ended.
I'm wondering how it begun.
NOw I'm keeping my head low,
You walk by me and you see me,
make-up smeared,
lipsticked blurred from a beating,
A black eye forming,
a spilt lip bleeding.
You keep on walking,
looking back at me,
asking yourself all sorts of things.
Wondering,
"What happened to her?"
"What should I do?"
"She's so pretty even with a bruise."
"Should I talk to her?'
"What do I say if I do?"
Asking yourself,
Would it make a difference, this small act of kindess for this girl, would it make a difference for this girl?
You run around and run to catch up to me.
You reach you hand out and you grab mine,
I stop and turn around looking at you profound,
You just smile and squeeze my hand and hold it tightly like your a long lost friend.
So we walk forward together,
Hand in Hand
