In the world of Svartálfheim, in the great city of Pankor Zhi, many factions have come and gone over time. Groups and guilds are formed and crumble, but one above all has remained. The great Order of Carvenor consists of magicians, scientist, theologists, mathematicians, musicians, priests and priestesses. It consists of all manners of people, from all walks of life and occupations. The best and the brightest of the Dökkálfar find themselves drawn to this particular faction. It was built a great many eons ago, when first the Dökkálfar broke from their cousins, the high elves. It was formed as a means to keep peace amongst the people, before the high council had been formed. The Order of Carvenor is of the highest regard in the now great city of Pankor Zhi, once the guardians of the people they are now simply a group that watches over the world to ensure its everlasting peace. They are the silent guardians, no longer enlisted by the council save in the most dire of circumstances. It is this great faction that opened the portal to the new world, sworn to secrecy of that skill by the council when at last they reached their new home. Though they are forbidden to teach outsiders of the skill, they still teach within their own how to use this great skill.
One must go through the most vigorous and terrifying of trials to become a full member, though partial members are privy to certain aspects of this faction. In any case, only full members are given the great honor of learning under those who have come to be the leaders. The High Priestess, the High Priest, the four Cardinals and the four Elofs govern this faction. They create the Council Elders of Carvenor, the most powerful beings in the city of Pankor Zhi, and perhaps in the entire world of Svartálfheim.
The High Priestess and High Priest govern over the faction almost entirely, though any great decisions must be run by the Council of Elders. Both are allowed three acolytes to study solely under their tutelage. Each Cardinal and Elof is allowed two acolytes each. The acolytes are not granted the great honor of attending the council, but must wait outside of the council hall while the proceedings take place. The identities of these Elders must remain a secret to all save for those full members of the Order. It is unlikely that they show their faces in public, as even the knowledge of their existence is a danger to the balance they keep. Still, there are those who break the rules, leaving the safety of the Order to find solace in the outside world.
