I saw my papaw yesterday
Laughing on and carrying away
Giving wet kisses from his endless supply
Reminding me often of his quiet goodbye
I saw my daddy yesterday
Waving his hand as we drove away
Reminiscing the past year
He was holding back all of his tears
I saw my close buds yesterday
Their little tails just wagging away
